Benjamin Franklin said to a lady outside Independence Hall, “a republic, if you can keep it”. Contrary to what most people say, America is NOT a democracy. It is a democratic republic and there is a gigantic difference.
Republics rely on certain things to maintain themselves. First and foremost is an unbiased rule of law. That’s why Lady Justice has a blindfold as she holds the scales.
Do you think we have equal justice under the law today? If you do, click this link.
Republics also rely on having an informed and educated population. Government of the people, by the people needs people who are intelligent enough and objective enough to make sure it governs according to the Constitution. Every statistic we see shows that the Government/Union Run Industrial Education Complex is a total failure and Covid made it significantly worse.
Do you think that our population today is educated enough? Or, have they been indoctrinated and corrupted?
Our democratic republic relies heavily on the principles of capitalism. Private property rights are paramount in this system as is competition. Do we have that today? Maybe ask New Jersey or Illinois homeowners who own their home, them, or the government they pay rent to.
I thought about this as I saw the results of two polls.
One in 10 young Americans believes that the Holocaust never happened, while 23 percent think it’s a myth or that the number of those killed has been exaggerated.
In a 50-state survey of Americans aged between 18 and 39, 12 percent said they had never heard, or thought they had never heard, the word “Holocaust” before.
Some younger Americans appear to have bought into conspiracy theories being shared on social media and some can’t name a single concentration camp.
The Holocaust happened. It wasn’t a myth. It was not some conspiracy theory cooked up by the “military-industrial complex” to go fight a war because, in 1939, there was no “military-industrial complex”.
The survey polled 1,085 likely voters, of which 33% were Republican, 36% were Democrat, and 31% were “other.” The report found that “21% of mail-in voters admitted that they filled out a ballot for a friend or family member,” which is illegal in all 50 states. In addition, “17% of mail-in voters said they signed a ballot for a friend or family member ‘with or without his or her permission.’”
Other findings revealed that “17% of mail-in voters … voted in a state where they are ‘no longer a permanent resident,’” in violation of federal election law. Another 8% of respondents said that “they were offered ‘pay’ or a ‘reward’ for voting in 2020.” The survey also found that “10% of all respondents — not just those who said they voted by mail — claimed that they know ‘a friend, family member, co-worker, or other acquaintance who has admitted … that he or she cast a mail-in ballot in 2020 in a state other than his or her state of permanent residence.’”
In the 2020 election, 43% of voters cast their ballots by mail
This is not a small number. There was fraud in the 2020 election and it has to be stopped in 2024 because we invite a Civil War if it’s not. Mail-in balloting invites fraud, as does early voting and sloppy election voter rolls.
I cannot verify the integrity of the underlying sample sizes or the actual constraints of these polls. Pollsters can form a thesis, then poll unobjectively to prove that thesis or skew the statistics so that the poll looks like something it is not.
But, it’s not surprising and feeds into my confirmation biases.
What do you think the Venn Diagram looks like at the intersection of these two groups? What do you think the conditional probability is of “If a person committed voter fraud in mail-in balloting, do they also believe the Holocaust is a myth” or vice versa?
My gut tells me if you think the Holocaust was a myth, you are more likely to commit voter fraud. However, I don’t think the opposite would be as strongly correlated meaning, if you committed voter fraud, you also think the Holocaust was a myth.
The thing is, both of these groups are undermining our “democratic republic” and it will be hard to keep it if these kinds of people persist even in a large minority.
America is the only country on earth designed this way. There is no place else to go.
The United States is a constitutional representative republic wherein the constitution reveres personal property rights thereby providing a springboard to a capitalist economic system that supports entrepreneurial endeavor and the concept of property.
Other than the President, the people we vote for at all levels "represent" us.
We are not a democracy (the word "democracy" does not appear in the Constitution). If we were a democracy, voters would arguably vote directly on every issue rather than electing representatives to deal with the issues.
The raw genius of the Constitution amazes with its wisdom, breadth, depth, clarity, and fairness. It is the most brilliant document of governance ever written.
It was written by the greatest minds of its time in 4 months in 1787 which was 4 years after the end of the American Revolution. It was not finally ratified by the last state until 10 Jan 1791.
It was no rushed or easy process which is why it is so bloody good.
Madison was the primary writer, but he had the assistance of Oliver Ellsworth, Nathaniel Gorham, Edmund Randolph, John Rutledge, James Wilson, Alexander Hamilton, William Johnson, Rufus King,, Gouverneur Morris, John Dickinson, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and George Washington (who presided over things and settled disputes).
It was the well spring for some of the most intricate writing and understanding in the form of the Federalist Papers written by Hamilton, Madison, and John Jay under the name "Publius."
No man should consider himself a citizen until he has read the Federalist Papers because they explain the logic of each provision in the Constitution.

A frightening piece. Speaking of indoctrination and no education, Mayor Johnson wants to disband the high school select enrollment process in the name of equity. I can't think of how you get anything but Holocaust deniers.... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12864439/Chicago-Mayor-Brandon-Johnson-selective-enrollment-high-schools.html?_host=www.dailymail.co.uk&login#readerCommentsCommand-message-field
