My daughter has started a podcast on parenting with her friend. Please share this with other new moms or people who might be interested.
As the former Mayor Daley of Chicago said, “If a man can't put his arms around his sons and help them, then what's the world coming to?” In this case, I am spreading the news for my daughter.
I have listened to it and I think it is pretty good but of course, it’s my daughter so there is some subjectivity involved. However, I think the premise is correct and on point. There are a lot of resources for pregnant women, but the resources for new moms are basically all aspirational stuff and not the real world.
Demographically, the US needs more new moms. People are avoiding marriage, or getting married later. That means if they have kids, they are having them later. It used to be you would see big families all the time but we don’t see that anymore. My wife and I would have probably had more kids, but she had challenging pregnancies so it would have been torture to have a third.
Congrats to her! I hope it’s a good podcast and moms always need realistic and practical support and advice.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised how many 3+ kid families we have in our home parish now.
Congratulations to your daughter! “You had sex, I had science.” Just the best.
