"Klein is trying to spin that progressive policies equal abundance for people." The only thing progressive policies are providing is an abundance of debt for everyone. You have to remember that the top 10% of federal taxpayers, pay about 70% of federal taxes, while the bottom 20% of taxpayers(?) essentially pay nothing...so who will provide this abundance liberals are looking for if all are equal? Also forgotten in all these progressive, utopian fantasies is human nature...some people will always game the system for their own benefit, not that of the group. Chicago's liberal Democratic leadership is a picture perfect example of that.
Ezra Klein is no "Journalist. He's a propagandist cut of the same cloth as that other Socialist, Goebbels. His JournoList project for iBama laid that bare. He's hasn't stopped since. Just another "Fully Trained Marxist" from the Skool Of Alinsky. (And no way that got "closed", like Operation Mockingbird, he just buried it deeper.)
I had experience with Journolist during the Obama campaign. They were good and sneaky. So much so the Republicans introduced us to Ben Smith. Ben was a part of Journolist, and tried to convince me he was a moderate since his parents are conservative despite the fact he was the same as Klein. I have shared the story before, but essentially, we knew for a fact that Bill Ayers was close to Obama and babysat the kids.
The left/progressives/elites are all about imposing the policies -- and bloody wacky policies to boot -- of the few on the many. That right there is the essence of the problem.
Classic example is the Minneapolis girls softball championship.
1. One team, Champlin Park HS won the Minn Class AAAA girls' softball state championship.
2. Champlin Park HS had a transgender pitcher -- Charlie Dean/Marissa Rothenberger -- who pitched all 21 innings of the three tournament games.
3. Charlie, a lanky, athletic 6' boy with a wicked fastball, was a damn good pitcher allowing only two runs in the 21 innings. He also knocked the snot out of the ball hitting two doubles in one game.
4. He was named to the All-Tournament team.
All of this is perfectly legal in Tim Walz's Minnesota under the Minnesota Human Rights Act as followed by the Minnestoa State High School League. One has to ask why?
It conflicts with the Trump Executive Order banning biological males from girls' sports and the US Dept of Education is investigating the matter.
It has also spawned a Federal lawsuit that is currently underway.
What it does is put the interests of one person -- Charlie/Marissa -- before the interests of every high school girl in the entire state. How is that remotely fair?
As a point of reference, the NCAA is on record as saying there are only 10 transgender guys in all of 520,000 collegiate women athletes. There are no such numbers for high school, but Charlie/Marissa is the only Minnesota transgender guy playing girls' softball.
Now, step back a second, WHY SHOULD THE INTEREST OF ONE GUY BE PUT AHEAD OF THE INTEREST OF EVERY HIGH SCHOOL GIRL SOFTBALL PLAYER?
Is that the way democracy is supposed to work or is it the greatest good for the greatest number?
As an aside, the Dems are nuts to champion these type of causes because the country polls 85% against this policy and 15% in favor of it. Politically, the Reps like this issue as it puts the Dems on their back foot.
It defies common sense which is, sadly, not very common.
I have 3 athletic granddaughters and my own daughter garnered 11 varsity letters in high school and it really irritates me that the elites would steal my granddaughters chance at a bit of normal life and happiness.
That little Journolist “project” was how Klein, et al., could keep the narrative going for the iBama campaign, so long as they coordinated story coverage at all their by-lined members’ “institutions”. Carlin’s “Big Club” for what used to be journalists, now just better paid stenographers. Not too long after, FusionGPS, and the like, just made it easier on that cut n paste set.

The bottom 10% receive a check.

And 51% of the US population pays no income taxes while receiving them.
The simplest assessment I can make is:
Conservatives are about construction and Liberals are about destruction.
