I don’t know if anyone else here thinks as I do that the debate was set up in order to get rid of Biden if he failed, which he obviously did.

In addition, Obama stabbed him in the back at that LA fundraiser by leading him off stage in the manner in which he did. These are very bad people.

This has become a much tougher election. Do not become overconfident; we can still lose to these jamokes.

So much for that bullshit about Democrats defending democracy, or the Republic

JBP's avatar

It was only a month or so ago that the Left/Media was telling us that stories about Biden's dementia were part of some crazed Republican disinformation campaign. Pure gaslighting, as his dementia has been obvious since at least 2020. He was never smart, but he was much more conversant and responsive till about 6 or 8 years ago.

JBP's avatar

Here is a good Tweet. The Left/Media are deranged. Terrible people.

The next Step needed to be getting America's mainstream media, you know, the one that has consistently ranked in the bottom 10 and often very worst out of multiple dozens of Nations' mainstream medias in accuracy, to turn on the Democrats and all they really did was turn on Biden, but there has been some negative press that has fortunately begun to speak the truth, though it is few and far between. It is like all of a sudden, America's best and brightest journalists ,which isn't saying much admittedly, had spiritual experiences where they are now enlightened after watching the debate, despite close up observation of the mashed potato brain President for the last few years.

Eventually, when the cuckoo teachers unions finally stop dominating the education landscape and children are taught true history, the Hunter Biden laptop story and its effect on the election and the cover-up and the lies and the deceit will go down as the most shameful episode in the history of politics of this country.

Make sure you get the heck out of Chicago before the DNC convention and warn your family not to go into the city anytime within 5 days before the start or anytime during it, because there is no telling what the cuckoo protesters are going to try to do.

It will be interesting to see if Mayor BJ gives his cops orders to stand down or deal harshly with those who refuse to obey the law.

Think it's fair to say that the R's don't give a you know what about you either. Tis the nature of the beast. Your are correct about Joe and he should have resigned at the same time. But: Dr. Jill hates Harris. If Joe went she would be the first female President. And did I mention that Dr. Jill hates her? She will in all probability be the nominee. After all a POC and in a party that defines itself by how many ways it can come up with to skin a cat as long as. it's a white cat, that's important. Though interesting that Obama (a POC) didn't endorse another POC running for President. It's probably the R's to lose. But then they seem to be good at that so we can only hope. For my two cents (and it costs over two cents to make a penny, which are no longer made of copper but zinc because copper is to expensive) Tump and company should back off a bit and let Harris and company self destruct as much as they can. The mean streets of Chicago await.

I agree, GOPe doesn't give a whit about Americans either.

Herbert Jacobi's avatar

Yes. We are left to survive by our own whits, I wouldn't mind if they were at least half-whits. In truth they are completely whit-less.

JBP's avatar

False see above...

JBP's avatar

Not sure about that. There are plenty of good Republicans out there who have shown genuine good faith concern about education choice, for example. Doesn't get them many more votes and revs up the teachers unions against them but it is one of the things we can be proud of as Republicans.

Can make a list, but we are head and shoulders better than the D's.

Jeffrey Carter's avatar

hence, my distinguishing GOPe.

JBP's avatar

Sort of. Mitch McConnell, a full establishment guy, is probably the most influential person alive today on judicial appointments, which were the only thing keeping the Obama's and the Biden's from turning the whole USA into a hell hole like the West Side of Chicago.

I have a lot of problems with Sen. McConnell, but he is not nearly as bad as a Democrat.

Herbert Jacobi's avatar

McConnell was excellent in defense, when the R's were in the minority. If you owned a football team he'd be the go to guy for Defensive Coach or coordinator. On offense if the choice was between him, your grandmother who was blind, had dementia, and knew nothing about Football. go with Grandma. The D's squabble and fight among themselves. But when push comes to shove they compromise and get bills passed. Someone described the R's like herding cats. Too many prima donnas who if offered a glass half full will throw out the water and break the glass.

Yes Mitch was great on the JD appointments. Because the R's were in agreement. The ducks were aligned.

it's when there are internal disagreements that they fall apart. Politics is a ground game of inches. R's are addicted to Hail Mary passes and kicking 75 yard field goals. Works sometimes but not an overall winning strategy. Look at all the contention in the House? Last good House leader was Newt and he had delusions of grandure so out he went.

JBP's avatar

Ryan's tax bill was best in many years. But he suffers from all of the above.

1) It was heavily weighted towards low income voters. They aren't going to vote Republican. It may be more fair to have the amount of tax collected from a low earner be less than the cost of adminning their return, but it doesn't win votes.

2) Ryan kept trying to thread the needle on immigration, with a failure to understand the Leftists weren't out to make a sensible immigration program...they just want chaos and a permanent underclass.

3) Then Ryan blames Trump after he resigns. Trump is a solid piece of work, but the failure on a big issue such as immigration is all Ryan. (Also McCain who was terrible).

Jeffrey Carter's avatar

bill could have been so much better. Ryan throttled and aided/abetted Trump detractors. Plus, it had the "sunset" provision.

Herbert Jacobi's avatar

I was painting with a broad brush. Exceptions to every rule but overall?

JBP's avatar

Many specific problematic characters in the GOP, but by and large, one party is fighting for school choice. a better tax code, and less self dealing in government.

Looking at a $30,000 contract right now in North Suburbs for DEI training. Where does this sort of garbage come from? The Democrats own and operate this bizarre pantomime of governance.

Herbert Jacobi's avatar

They also brought back earmarks. Newt got rid of them. Not a big Newt fan but he did a lot of good things the the R's then later undid. DEI is basically a grift and probably a money laundering scheme. Anyone know what happened to the BLM money? Hands up. Don't see any hands raised.

School choice is good. The Teachers Unions are basically D machines. D's have the government give Unions money. They in turn give the D's "contributions". The R's are not promoting school choice exactly out of the kindness and goodness of their hearts. It's a good thing they are doing it but let's not be naive about it either.

In a sense it's the old Lindsey Graham problem. He would support some corporation or something that was giving massive contributions to D's. The reason he supported them was because they gave him some money. Compared to what they gave the D's it was a pittance. But, but they give me money.... Look at Nikki Haley. She couldn't wait to suck up to Disney after they made noises about leaving Florida. On the one hand as a Gov it was in the interest of bringing dollars to her state but Disney was\is super Woke and a big D which doesn't just stand for Disney. If they moved to S. Carolina (they weren't) where would that money go? The D's do things in their own interest. The R's do things in their own interest. If their interests and your interests coincide that is well and good. Just don't think they are doing it because they really really like you.

And yes I am a cynic.

Jeffrey Carter's avatar

Newt is the best Republican Speaker of the House in the 20th Century, 21st Century

Herbert Jacobi's avatar

Agree. Too bad he got ahead of the tips of his skis. The Pride goeth before the Fall so to speak. its' an Ego problem. They all have it (Looking at you Donald). It's how they control it that matters. Need the ability to step outside of yourself.

JBP's avatar

Probably true. He was a handshaker and dealmaker. Got stuff done, generally pro-American.

Newt's downsides were rather obvious... was bored with being anything but Emperor, even though he was good at compromise. Self dealer in his district, which you have to be, if you are going to get elected.

I personally like Paul Ryan, but holding my nose, yes, Newt was the best Republican Speaker (there have only been a few) in our lifetime.

JBP's avatar

Our school district can't even tell us what happened to their COVID funds. Was a couple $million.

Herbert Jacobi's avatar

Chump change. And guess who's the chumps and whose change it is? This is one of my (many) pet peeves and what I think is "wrong" with the way people think about the present system. I call it the Big\Little problem or the Little\Big problem depending on which way you look at it. As I pointed out above it costs the US Treasury more money to make a penny (and a nickel) than they are worth. Pennies are made out of zinc as are most other coins because the original metals are too expensive. They could probably save millions (more a lot more) by just stopping it. They don't. Why? Many years ago it was proposed and their were "complaints". I don't know from who. Penny collectors of America maybe. So nothing was done. There is a talk about the "Deep State" which is probably true. But there is the also the "Inertia State" which is (I think) maybe a bigger problem. You can't tackle the BIG problems like Social Security because too many people will complain, the can gets kicked down the road. I have the feeling a lot of people think there is a lock box or account somewhere with their number on it and that is where the money is. So nothing gets done. The penny and nickel and your school's COVID funds are LITTLE problems. Too little to worry or do anything about. So nothing gets done. Of course there are a lot of those little problems and they all add up but no one is counting them. No one wants to deal with the BIG problems. They are too big. No one wants to deal with the LITTLE problems. They are too small. Hence nothing gets done.

The other gripe is that Bureaucrats seem to think that it is the American Publics job to make their life easier rather than the other way around. I won't say all the rules and regulations but a lot of them are for the benefit of the bureaucracies and the bureaucrats. If it makes it harder for you? Well so what? Who do you think you are?

Why no $500 Bills anymore? Treasury worries about Counterfeiting. But there are larger Euro Notes (200 and 500). Swiss francs up to 1000.

They don't want to deal with the problems. Ditto the failure of the One and two dollar bills and coins. Seems to work in other countries. It's all about the politics. Appease this group, or that group. They might not give you campaign money or vote for you or complain about the lack of pennies to their congressman. Costs the tax payer millions? Not their problem. The Devil is in the details.

OK I'll stop now before Jeffrey bans me for life.

Ataraxis's avatar

She has to be the nominee. That’s the only way for the Dems to use the Biden-Harris campaign money which has been contributed so far.

The big question is which loser will agree to be her VP. Whitmer already said she’s out.

Jeffrey Carter's avatar

Who ever takes it is also someone they want out. Harris/Buttgieg....they will dispatch both of them. I think it's more about downballot races. Adam Schiff is only how much ahead in CA with Silicon Valley turning.

Ataraxis's avatar

That’s great logic. But how tone deaf would a Dem have to be to accept this VP spot, unless there’s a guaranteed payout. But why would anyone trust the Dem cabal to honor a promised payment?

Herbert Jacobi's avatar

2028. If Harris bombs but the VP has a good showing and doesn't commit any unpardonable sin, probably in a reasonably good place for 2028, especially if they are an unknown or little known player. Plus books to write, speeches \lectures to give, corporate boards to sit on, etc. Mike Huckabee is doing TV Commercials and in each one there is a blurb that says 2016 Former Presidential Candidate. The new Harold Stassen.

Herbert Jacobi's avatar

Yes. If Trump wins but the D's take the House and or the Senate then he is effectively neutered. Back to Executive Orders a la 2016 which can be overturned by the next D President. Laws are much much harder to overturn. He can veto laws passed by the House and Senate but getting things he wants as laws would be very difficult if not impossible.

Absolutely the unvarnished truth here. Bravo!!! I know the phrase is overused, but I think this is going to be the most consequential election of my lifetime. We need to retain our freedoms.

Amen Jeff! Sharing to the world! It's not only the blacks that have been manipulated, lied to and kept in poverty, all voters who put their trust in them suffered the consequences of their actions.

Tom Eckert's avatar

Well said Mr Carter! With the amount of horse manure that's been spread by the "main stream media" the last few decades how do you even pick what to write about?! This slow moving train wreck has been coming down the track since Obama vowed to "fundamentally change" America. Well he did and today's events are the proof. Growing up and living my whole life in and around Chicagoland I thought I'd seen it all. Guess not.....

Middleofmytethr's avatar

How can you be unfit to be president candidate, but fit to be president? Democrats can’t have it both ways.

Scott Garl's avatar

Menendez probably not too much of an outlier, give or take what tactics are employed to rake it in.

Yes, Quayle was brilliant, made me laugh. Great take as always!

They want to destroy Trump because he makes them all look like a bunch of loser parasites, which they are. He could probably sell Mar-A-Lago for a bil on a bad day.
