When Jesus was crucified, and his disciples went up to see an empty grave, an angel of the Lord said to them, “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.”
Focus on the “Fear not” even if you are an atheist.
Today, our society consistently lives in fear. Constantly. You watch the news and the core message whether it is left or right is fear. Interestingly, the fear the news channels pedal is often based on things you cannot control.
Watch the business news channel on days the market goes a lot lower and they are pedaling panic. “Will investors panic and sell?”, they ask. All it does is cause everyone to stop and worry about losing everything and those with wealth managers burn up the telephone lines looking for reassurance.
On the left, it’s Covid porn and climate change. On the right, it’s crime and anarchy.
Meanwhile, those people in what John Kass expertly identified as “The Combine” keep mowing freedom and liberty out of the field.
When you look at the facts and data, you shouldn’t be fearful.
The left doesn’t want to engage in facts and data. They know they will lose the argument. Instead, they appeal to emotion and “risky behavior”. They use race-baiting as a wedge to work their way in. Just see how they are treating Joe Rogan today. They couldn’t beat him on facts and data.
People like Thomas Sowell and Shelby Steele are very informative when it comes to race and how it is used to advance policies that usurp your liberty and freedom.
I know left-wing people that could live in any of the 50 states they wanted to live in. For some reason, they always choose states that are dominated by Republican governors and legislatures. You know if the state were to flip and look like California or New York, they’d move again. Yet, the idiots keep voting for the other party.
What did Einstein say the definition of insanity was?
It is incredibly hard to be objective these days. I read this column in the Financial Times and the comments made me want to sell every stock fund I own and go to cash. Honestly, I do think we are in a bear market and not a bull market or a sideways market. STFR. (Clean version, “sell rallies”)
There is a lot of uncertainty in the world, but there is always a lot of uncertainty in the world. When hasn’t there been? As humans, we have a brain and so we try to think ahead. We try to plan. Animals don’t.
People are afraid of risk. Inherently we are hard-wired to avoid it in our “flight or fight” part of our brain. In general, people also often misanalyze risk. They take too little and it doesn’t get them anywhere or they take too much and failure wipes them out completely so they can’t recover. Our educational system conditions people to avoid risk entirely. You almost can’t blame people for not understanding it.
My old friend Richard Duchossois used to say, “Always inspect what you don’t expect.” He was a tank destroyer commander in WW2 and in one battle he didn’t do enough homework and a lot of guys were killed. That never happened to him again.
So, we inspect. But, the problem is it is desperately hard to get good unbiased information from corporate media. Social media is full of anecdote which doesn’t get us to the true data. When we get the true data, it’s often too late.
Covid is illustrating the irrational fear of risk in real-time today. Masks don’t work. Vaccines aren’t as effective as advertised and in some cases do damage to the people who receive them. In some cases, vaccines are totally worthless. Lockdowns don’t work. As a society, we enjoyed the “pleasure” of having more excess death and economic/societal destruction because of lockdowns than lives saved. Early treatments for Covid which put people on ventilators actually hurt them. If you don’t see that you are either stupid or willfully ignorant.
My friend Mr. D would comb through the data and arrive at a decision. Then, he’d execute like crazy to get it done. As he learned through executing, he’d shift his position a little until he reached his goal. In entrepreneurship, they characterize this as a “pivot”, but often it’s just a slight change.
You cannot learn unless you actively execute. Actively executing will help you understand, manage, and learn not to fear risk. Sitting in your chair and pondering risk doesn’t help you get over your fear of risk.’
You also have to put yourself in the right position to execute and take advantage. The left-wing wants all that given to people. They say, “racism has caused them not to have a chance and this is good for the community”. Chances are not given, they are earned. Athletics teaches you that.
If you have prepared yourself for the chance, you will succeed. If you haven’t, you will fail and you have to re-prepare yourself for that chance again.
This societal battle has been raging for years. Today, President Biden talks of “equity”. It’s not any different from left-wing activists in the past who wanted to empower unelected bureaucracies to have dominion over society. Biden wants chances given because of preferences that he decides on. My blog yesterday illustrated that.
This debate from the 1970s is instructive and worth a watch. We are having the same debate using different words now. If Liberty, Freedom, and Capitalism do not win out, we are in deep trouble.
Here is what I do know. As soon as you cave in to your inner fear, you can be controlled. You will make bad decisions. You can fall for their deepest deceptions.
Steel yourself. Because in the next nine months there will be a lot of fear-mongering going on. Don’t let them win.
The quote from the NT is actually what the angel said to the shepherds announcing Jesus's birth. Still, we are instructed, OVER and OVER, throughout the bible, to fear only God.
We are not to fear man (respecting authority is not fear) or anything else. In fact, "fear of the Lord" is mentioned WAY MORE than "God is Love" in the scriptures.
The problem with most folks today is they don't fear God and therefore they are scared of their own shadow.
Right or left, we all take in various information. And we ALL have the ability to filter information as we wish and come to our own conclusions. I don't think that ANYONE actually doubts this. BUT...Joe Rogan on the other hand -- as the newly appointed rendition of DJT -- has magical abilities. His opinions, if not removed, will lead anyone who takes in such information to an early death as his information does not allow anyone to think for themselves any longer. Taking multiple shots that don't work is the only path, to question this is unacceptable. Mandating multiple shots that don't work as marketed is TRUTH!
Let's say that you're feeling depressed and go to the doctor. The doc says that your serotonin levels are low and wants to put you on a SSRI. Of the flip side, your friend Joe says that exercise has really helped him, along with other non-pharma therapeutics. Joe is happy and healthy. The left these days would say that prozac is mandatory and Joe is a dangerous POS. They wish Joe to die a miserable death while on his daily jog and that he dies in a car accident on the way to weight watchers. Joe is not even allowed in the office anymore as without the assuredness of prozac, he might make everyone else depressed.
What has made the left go so utterly mad?
