I think the Babylon Bee headline had it best. Democrats scramble to find a replacement for Mitt Romney.
Romney was a reliable no-vote for conservative issues. He lived for the limelight. My friend Sean Davis summed it up best on his Twitter account.
Mitt Romney spent the last 20 years in politics—as a one-term governor, a one-term senator, and a twice-defeated presidential candidate—and his only lasting accomplishment of note is that he gave Barack Obama the blueprint for how to destroy the American healthcare system.
Romney is why we have Trump. Romney backed down from every fight he ever saw. You might not care for Trump, but you have to respect that he is a brawler.
Turns out, Trump is looking like he was correct about Joe Biden and Ukraine. We have never had a real debate about Ukraine, and it is so sullied because Joe Biden mined millions of dollars for his family there.
As a conservative Republican, I want Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Tom Cotton, Rand Paul, Rick Scott, Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, JD Vance, and Joni Ernst on my team. They get it.
People like John Cornyn, Lisa Murkowski, and Lindsay Graham need to retire. They don’t get it. They are GOPe, and they don’t fight for anything when it counts. If you come from a Republican-heavy state like Texas, no need to have a mush mouth. States like Maine which are primarily blue can have mush mouths. They will fall in line when they are needed to fall in line.
It’s fine to be cordial. But, Romney wasn’t just cordial. He rolled over and showed his belly as soon as the going got tough. Besides, at some point, you have to be direct, and blunt, and call out the Democratic Party for what it is today. It has become enchanted with socialism and is doing everything it can to instill it into the American bureaucracy. Just today Oregon’s governor got rid of all educational requirements to graduate. I think it is okay to say she is nuts and just a hollow version of a leader.
Utah can finally elect a Republican now that Romney is out of the way. He is a disappointment if you are a conservative. He failed in Massachusetts. He failed in Utah. Maybe he can move to Michigan and run as a Machine Democrat.
Couldn’t agree more about Romney. He’s like the talented teammate who never gets his uniform dirty, or leaves his jersey untucked. He doesn’t get floor burns or catch the ball in traffic or break up the double play. But he sure looks good to the ‘cool kids.’
In order for the Rs to beat the Dems/‘progressives’/socialists, we desperately need people in and running for public office who don’t care what the ‘cool kids’ think.
Babylon Bee on a major roll. Frequent major laughs reading their twitter posts last couple of months.
