Illinois Democratic House Speaker Madigan Indicted

The Rest of the Democratic Party is Corrupt Too

Big news in Illinois. Former Democratic House Speaker Michael Madigan was indicted. My friend Matt Rosenberg wrote a column yesterday about what it was like to live in Madigastan. For those of you not from Illinois, read it. You will begin to understand why this is such huge news.

It’s not just huge news for Illinois. It’s huge news for the United States. Illinois is one of the top-producing states when it comes to national GDP. Madigan and the Democrats single-handedly destroyed the economic viability of the state with their corruption. Not one Democrat is untainted, including the ones in federal offices. They all looked the other way and took their marching orders from Madigan.

This includes JB Pritzker, Rahm Emanuel, The Daley Family, Dick Durbin, Jan Schakowsky, Tammie Duckworth, and the rest of them all were in on the game. All of them. So was Obama. If they weren’t in on the game, they looked the other way and said nothing.

Everyone tried to grab a piece of the pie. The further down the totem pole you were meant you got a smaller piece. When Chicago politicians make a ruckus, it’s not on principle. It’s because they didn’t get enough to eat.

Some Republicans joined in but not many. You can read John Kass who coined the term “The Combine” to describe them. He is well worth subscribing to and I do. Enough Republicans joined in the Chicago media makes corruption look like it is both parties. It’s not. It’s one. It’s the Democrats.

The Republicans in Illinois are too feckless to be corrupt. Even Denny Hastert went to jail and it wasn’t for corruption but believe me, he participated. It was so bad one of the last truly conservative Republicans Illinois sent to the US Senate, Peter Fitzgerald, left the state for Virginia. His own party betrayed him.

If Trump were re-elected and Covid bailouts didn’t happen, Illinois would be on the economic brink today. It’s gonna happen. The time bomb is ticking. The United States should not bail them out.

One of the major reasons my wife and I left Illinois was the Democratic Party and the constant corruption. It led to higher and higher taxes. It led to higher and higher fees. It created bad behavior up and down the value chain. If you wanted to run a small business in Illinois, you were under the thumb of the Democratic Party. Don’t toe the line and all kinds of inspectors were in your business finding all kinds of things wrong.

They are horrible people. There is not a decent one in the bunch. That’s putting it lightly. The nation hasn’t seen the level of corruption anywhere else in the country like Illinois. Maybe…maybe Philly or Jersey. But, I think Illinois is king.

When one is replaced, the newcomer is just as corrupt as the prior one. Kass likens politics in Illinois to a chessboard. Nothing moves unless Madigan okays it and they know all the corresponding moves before it happens. Want to give up your US congressional seat and run for something back home? Better make sure Madigan is okay with it. Let’s say Danny Davis and Chuy Garcia won’t be running anything locally anytime soon.

They fix elections and cheat. They suppress the vote. They rig the judiciary. Illinois is 1000% a rigged game when it comes to politics and dealing with the government.

If you don’t toe the line you can be socially ostracized too. When I look at non-government organizations like the Chicago Economic Club and other institutions, they were corrupted by Democrats and social justice. They are worthless. Listen to people like Dan Proft. He can recite chapter and verse how deep the corruption runs.

My friends at Illinois Policy and Wirepoints are probably dancing a jig today. They have been pointing out the corruption for years and no media outlet helped them. No one lifted a finger and in fact tried to muzzle them. John Tillman made a movie about Michael Madigan. It explains how the Velvet Hammer worked.

We knew that it wasn’t going to end in our lifetimes. Approaching age 60 I figured it was much easier to move out than fight. If I was in my 20s, maybe fighting would be the right thing. I told my wife the other day the only thing that could get me to move from Nevada is if the state stays blue or if a cool job opportunity opened up in a state like Florida.

Chicago can be a magical city. It was bittersweet to leave. I am, and always will be a Chicagoan. I might still be there if I thought the government was on the level despite the cold weather. My friends are leaving too. So did hundreds of thousands of other people over the past several years. They aren’t moving because of the weather.

They are moving because people like Governor JB Pritzker are two-faced. Institute super strict Covid restrictions and send your family to a free state like Florida.

Ask a Chicago person what their property taxes are. That’s where you see it the most. But sales taxes are some of the highest in the country. So are gas taxes. So are internet taxes. It never ends and the infrastructure is so bad now it can’t be fixed. The city isn’t nearly as safe as it was and it looks grubby. The suburbs aren’t really any better. More space and bucolic, but they are costly. The Beatles must have had Chicago and Illinois in mind when they wrote the song “Taxman”.

My hope is they all go to jail. My hope is that they get fined millions and millions of dollars and they rot in jail.

If you are in Illinois and you vote Democratic, you are part of the problem.
