Yesterday, Jussie Smollett was found guilty on five of six felony counts. As a former lifelong Chicagoan, I watched the trial with interest. When it was first reported on the news, both my wife and I and anyone we knew thought Smollett was faking.
When the verdict was announced, Jussie was there with his entourage. It’s notable that neither of the two main race-baiting grifters, Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton was by his side prior to, during, or after the trial. Even they knew it was a losing proposition.
I lived not terribly far from where the “crime” occurred. In all my years of living there, I never saw one person wear a MAGA hat in Chicago. Never saw a Trump bumper sticker or Trump sign in a yard or window. If you had worn one, you’d have been assaulted. Put something on your car or home, and it would surely be vandalized. Remember, the city council tried to take the “Trump” sign off his hotel and protestors were in front of it constantly once he was elected. Republicans have been forced into the closet in Chicago. They have to stay quiet otherwise they pay a professional and social cost.
Personally, I had no idea who Jussie was. He certainly isn’t the “black Cary Grant”. Maybe the “black Rock Hudson”. I knew who his sister was because I loved her character in the show Friday Night Lights.
As it turns out, it looks like he didn’t have much of a career and was going to be written out of the series. He didn’t have a lot of prospects.
If you believed Jussie’s yarn, you just simply aren’t that intelligent. You need to examine your confirmation biases. We all make mistakes but you don’t get over it without a lot of intense self-examination. I am waiting for people like Robin Roberts to devote the same amount of air time apologizing to America for their role in the whole mess as they did in exploiting the mess.
Needless to say, I was pretty happy with the outcome yesterday. Spare me the “hate crimes happen and we need to have compassion” logic. For the people that think Jussie has paid his penance to society, I’d tell them they are wrong.
He lied. He diverted precious police resources from innocent people that needed them. It’s not as if Chicago doesn’t have a lot of real crime that police could be concentrated on. The city is a fricking mess and one of the major reasons we moved away was crime.
Jussie also pulled the levers of power to rush to his defense, try and instill societal guilt on people, hide behind two different victimhood classes and pollute the potential jury pool once it became clear that this wasn’t going to go away. It’s not every criminal that can get a Presidential candidate, a Vice Presidential candidate, and a former President and First Lady to voice support for them. Not to mention the Governor of Illinois and Mayor of Chicago.
If you know Chicago as I do, you never thought the truth would have a chance at trial. The system is so rigged. Judge Tim Evans runs a political organization, not a department of Justice. State’s Attorney Kim Foxx is one of the more corrupt politicos in the entire Democratic Machine and that’s saying something. Thank goodness for the people who enabled an objective trial to happen.
Smollett enabled the mass left-wing mainstream media machine to lecture the American public on how bad they are. He was a new catalyst in the constant left-wing drumbeat to divide America into small little pools of people that look at each other as rivals.
He also tried to pin all white people and all Republicans as racists. I remember what my old seventh-grade history teacher’s Gordon Teichman would say, “When you point your finger and accuse someone, there are three fingers pointing back at you.”
When he was on the stand, he showed no contrition. He thought up until the end that he was going to get away with it. He was combative.
He should get some time in the pokey wearing his orange jumpsuit.
Dave Chappelle did a humorous riff on Jussie and it’s hilarious along with being terribly sad at the same time. If Jussie had any scruples or character, it wouldn’t have happened in the first place.
Smollett goes down in a long line of fake hate crimes and fake accusations. They are getting more and more frequent. I heard about an incident years ago where a female professor at Columbia U put a noose on her doorknob. Then, shouted racism. It was fake. The incidents at Duke with their lacrosse team, fake. Rolling Stone ran a bogus story about rape. CNN ran a bogus story about a boy and a militant Indian on the national mall. We have seen fake hate crimes perpetrated on religious buildings, and ethnic businesses. A NASCAR driver thought he saw a noose in a garage when it was just a garage door rope. We had hearings on SCOTUS Justice Brett Kavanaugh where a totally uncredible witness totally fabricated stories about his past that enabled a Democratic witch hunt purely because Democrats didn’t want an originalist justice on the court. By the way, the Anita Hill hearings for Justice Thomas were probably fabricated too. The entire Russia scandal with Trump was a pure political fabrication. Almost all of the fantastic allegations leveled against Trump by the left have proven to be false.
Recently a bunch of supposedly “right-wing” militia was seen at the Lincoln Memorial marching. If you believe it happened, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. There is so much deception counting on the intense confirmation bias of people and to try and reinforce the idea that America is a racist country. Did you ever ask yourself what sort of economic benefit the hoaxsters receive?
America is not a racist country.
Not only that, we are being force-fed bullshit about “female athletes” setting new swim and track records. Except they are males. Force-fed historical about the first female four-star officer or first female Nevada Miss USA contestant. Except they are really male. It’s not historic nor are any records record-setting. Everyone knows they just can’t say it out loud.
We have been told that January 6th was worse than Pearl Harbor, yet the violent marches and looting that went on in the summer of 2020 were “peaceful”. It’s insulting.
The media trotted out a bunch of bull when it came to Kyle Rittenhouse that all turned out to be false when spilled out in an objective court of law.
The current military leadership seems to be concerned more with wokeness in the ranks than it does figuring out who is a threat to our way of life. So does the current political and elite power class.
America is a tolerant country, not intolerant. But, the more the left beats the drum, the stronger the backlash will be when it comes.
CNBC commentator Jim Cramer said that “This is the strongest economy I have ever seen.” It’s a blatant lie. No one can look at America’s economy right now and say it’s strong. Regular people know it is not. The talking heads you see on television aren’t playing straight. It’s not a simple disagreement. The data just don’t back Cramer up.
This is a high-profile case. Will it put a hole in the dyke of all the bullshit that people use to try and turn themselves into a victim?
Not as long as we have victim classes codified by public policy. Jesse and Al need them so they can make a living.
This also extends to Covid policy. Most of the Covid policy we have seen doesn't "keep us safe". It's bullshit. It's lawyers and doctors that have no concept of opportunity costs or data and only want to increase power, limit downside risk.
The demand for white racist violence far exceeds the supply, so all we get is cheap, shabby knockoffs of the real thing.
