Take care, man. Down here, 30, 40 minutes north of the Twin Cities, the smoke rolled in a few hours ago. Definitely smells. Looks kinda like your glasses are dirty. I heard that 20 minutes north of us, visibility is restricted.

We can barely see the other side of the lake! Think you have to drive to Nebraska to get away from it!

Just left Madeline Island this am. Yes ash on the windows. Smoky through Minocqua WI and only cleared up at Stevens Point if heading towards Chicago. I have never seen it that bad either. I think we have a convergence of the MN fire w the Ontario blaze

Yep, here in Center City visibility is only 1/4 mile across my lake. We were on alert(fire dept) last month for up there.

This is what happens when you let environmentalist whackos write policy to not manage our forests for the last 30 years; the fuel load is way too high. Funny how our Indians used to burn millions of acres per year to preserve balance...

Sounds nearly like heaven. Real , immediate concerns. None of that human b.s. like politics. Enjoy! Stay safe and busy.

Went on 3 canoe trips through Ely. Twice in high school. Once in my 20’s. Boundary Waters into Canada where portages were much rougher. Dad wanted to get us in shape for football! 🤣 Gorgeous country. Never saw it dry. Always lush. No problem with cooking fires.

Jeffery be sure the vehicles are fully fuelled an if the warning go out, you go. Don’t take any chances, material things can be replaced you and your family cannot. Fires move amazingly fast if windy and dry fuel are present.

Hope these clear up for you and your neighbors.

We had a disastrous event in June, huge tree hit the vacation house in a big storm (possible microburst). Extremely challenging to rebuild in a rural county—and to avoid mold and mildew. The so-called remediation cos are close to worthless. Won’t bore all with details; an enterprising person with some project and construction skills could start a business in the field and if well run, own the business.

Will be tackling the horrific approach of the co that bought our mortgage. They have an “F” with the BBB and we see why.

OTOH, our local neighbors have been fantastic, many blessings there.

That is one of the benefits of time spent in the country; it shows the character that built this country.

Outside Chicago smoke is thick as well with the burnt smell in the air. Can’t say if it’s from Canada or your fires. Be safe.
