The Revisionists and Anti-Semites on the Right
We Know The Left Hates Jews
Dave Chappelle says never to talk about the Jews. It’s a funny comedy bit, but I am going to wade in those waters.
Jews have been persecuted as long as man has walked the earth. If you read the Old Testament, you already know this. If you read any decent accounts of history, you know it. We aren’t going to suddenly end anti-Semitism, but we can keep the smouldering ashes from turning into a conflagration. The smouldering ashes are finding some kindling these days.
The fires aren’t just burning in places like Great Britain, France, or places that have seen a lot of immigration from Arab countries in the Middle East and Africa. They are burning in the US too.
We know that the left wing of American politics hates Jewish people. Marching in the streets with their kaffiyeh on is just one example. Quotas at colleges are another. AOC and the squad are the cultural and spiritual leaders of the Democratic Party of today. Bernie Sanders and Bill Ayers provide the intellectual underpinnings. The academic left wing in our universities is also supportive.
The communist party has always hated Jewish people, going back to Russia.
Don’t give me the bullcrap that this person was a communist and Jewish, so how can they hate themselves? Bernie Sanders is a perfect example. He is no friend to Jews or Israel, despite his being born Jewish.
I read Roger Simon’s column, and I think Roger is right.
October 7 in Israel woke a lot of people up. It woke up a lot of Jewish people who previously caucused with the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party was their traditional home for a lot of reasons, none of them religious. But they started to leave and leave en masse. They will continue to leave as they understand how the policies of the Democratic Party aren’t just antithetical to the religious principles of both Judaism and Christianity, but are very anti-Semitic on the international stage.
But the migrants won’t find a political home in the Republican Party if the Republican Party is passive or tolerant of anti-Semites in hopes of winning elections. The text messages of the kids in the Young Republicans cannot be tolerated. Even if they are jokes.
Giving platforms to anti-Semitic people like Nick Fuentes is wrong. Fuentes has a warped view of history and cast Winston Churchill as the villain in WW2!
All you have to do is read Anthony Beevor’s book on the Second World War to know that Hitler and Stalin formed an uneasy partnership in 1938-39. They were truly evil. Stalin was no friend to the Jewish people. One of the humorous lines in my friend Leo Melamed’s book that told how he and his parents escaped the Holocaust was that as a young Jewish boy, he didn’t know what was worse, the Nazi’s marching down the street or the Cossacks.
It is twisted history to say that Patton wanted to partner with Nazi’s and invade Russia in 1945, and those are some of the ideas being peddled on those platforms. Churchill certainly tried to engage with Stalin in 1940. Great Britain needed to put pressure on the Nazi’s. Lord Halifax wanted to use Mussolini to negotiate with Hitler after the fall of France. Churchill’s pleas to FDR fell on deaf ears. In 1940, there was an overwhelming sentiment for the US to stay out of another European war, let alone a Pacific war that had been raging since the mid-1930s. Great Britain was alone.
The truth is, if Hitler hadn’t engaged in Operation Barbarossa and invaded Russia, Stalin and he would have had a Prisoner’s Dilemma game theory equilibrium. It is probably inevitable that the equilibrium would have fallen apart, but it might have persisted for a decade or more. It’s doubtful Stalin would have helped Great Britain, and ultimately the US.
Hitler couldn’t figure out how to invade Great Britain, so he looked east.
Hitler’s initial idea was to persecute the Jews so badly that they would simply emigrate to another country. For most of them, there was nowhere to go. Others didn’t believe the worst could happen. They’d endured pogroms and discrimination for eons. Leo Melamed went through the Soviet Union, and his family’s trek was threading a needle to make it out. If German and Polish Jews had moved east in large groups, they probably would have been turned into slave laborers for Stalin. Many countries wouldn’t accept them, and there was no Israel for them to flee to. The Final Solution wasn’t put into full motion until January of 1942. 6 million Jews were murdered, the bulk of them in three years. There were not a lot of good choices for them.
During the Japanese invasion of China, Stalin was engaged in some fighting with Japan. Hitler remained neutral. Inside China, Mao undermined Chiang Kai-shek, and Stalin supported him.
That is the actual documented, annotated, footnoted, and real history of that time.
Let the crazies spout off on social media and build their own platforms of hate. It’s easier to isolate them then. Don’t put them on podcasts to expose the world to their ideas, especially if you don’t push back hard against them.
It’s time for leading Republicans to follow Senator Ted Cruz’s example.
That being said, objective criticism of Israel is okay. Objective. Nobody is perfect. But the rush to criticize them for their actions in Gaza when they were viciously attacked went over the line.
It is still uncertain whether the “peace” will hold in Gaza. The Palestinians have terrorized and brainwashed their people to hate Israelis for millennia. I, for one, am glad Trump did not get a Nobel Peace Prize this year for his efforts there. Too soon is the only reason. But if peace holds, he ought to get it, and no one should even question it.
Certainly, Israel is the one true ally we have in the Middle East. Hence, we have to find ways to support them. Some of that is via arms sales. Some of it is food aid. Some of it is money. If other countries want to follow Israel’s example, they can be allies too. However, they can’t be on the opposite side of Israel and be an ally.
Anti-Semitism or subjective criticism that bleeds into anti-Semitism cannot be tolerated.
I am glad we are recognizing anti-Semitism for what it is. I am glad people are being proactive about it. I just had a long conversation with a leader in the Jewish political community who said that they are seeing more and more of it coming from the far right. They always knew it was part of the left’s agenda. It’s got to be stopped and stopped by Republicans. The Democrats certainly aren’t going to stop it. They like it! They can exploit it as a megaphone and hide their own deeply anti-semitic policies.
You can be tolerant and strongly defend free speech. If Fuentes and his ilk want to fan the flames of white nationalism and anti-Semitism, that is their right. Free speech isn’t “free” though. There are opportunity costs to free speech. Fuentes and his crowd ought to be paying them and charged full price.

Spot on, Jeff.
Ted Cruz is completely right on this. Push back publicly and hard against these idiots.
It is difficult to believe in a personal God. All our modern 'science' and all. The Jews may be one of the greatest proofs of the existence of a spiritual world that we have. I've studied religions since my 20s and I'm 75 now. I've accepted Christianity as the only viable, true religion for nearly 50 years. But still, the 'natural' mind, the modern mind anyway, recoils on some level. There HAS to be a reality beyond our animal senses. How else could one group, the Jews, have become the constant whipping boy of most of humanity for 4000 years unless the very system of evil the jewish Bible describes is in fact extant. A force for death and destruction ever with us that never sleeps. Always aimed primarily it seems at this one people.
