Back in the day, I cautioned that the new breed of Obama Democrats were totalitarians in disguise. I was called a racist or not in touch with reality. Obama was the golden boy. First Black President. He could do no wrong.
What they didn’t realize, and most still do not realize, is that Obama was a totalitarian.
You can call him Marxist or communist or socialist, and he doesn’t exactly fit into those molds exactly. There is always one exception, so people don’t believe you. That allows them to push you aside. They roll their eyes.
Except, when you examine the data, Obama is always for centralization. He is always for the power of government over people or a company. The bureaucrat regulator, or kommissar if you will, is more important than the producer. The producer must kneel at the feet of the kommissar, or they will feel the power of the government.
I thought this article at John Kass illustrated it well.
The entire Democratic Party is about power now, which has turned it into a far-left wing party. It is no longer centrist. It is no longer for the little guy. It is no longer for minorities. It is the vision of Bill Ayers brought forth by Obama.
It’s a party built for cronies and power.
The autopen is but one example in the last administration. You had a President who wasn’t even aware of where he was, but it didn’t matter. The mission mattered. Joe Biden, a traditional Democrat, partnered with totalitarians to get what he always wanted: the Presidency. But he didn’t have any power. The totalitarians in his administration, led by Susan Rice and others, had the power.
It illustrates my point that Democrats will partner with Marxists to keep power. When they do, they don’t realize they are empty vessels and have given up the power. In NYC, we are seeing that in real time as Bill Clinton and Chuck Schumer have endorsed a Marxist running for mayor.
The Marxist’s mom is a multi-millionaire, and his dad is a professor at Columbia. But that doesn’t matter at all.
The new far left do not care about citizen welfare. They care only about power over citizens. They use the power of government to continually tax citizens, and if the citizens revolt, they use the power of government to keep them in line.
In fact, the background of the NYC mayoral candidate is a gift. The new far left Democratic Party can network and crony around it.
Biden used the bureaucracy and power of government to persecute political rivals. They were active with it. They were conspiratorial with it working with local governments to carry out that persecution. Megyn Kelly has had reams of podcasts illustrating it.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali has a good column up at The Free Press today. People will think too much about the persecution of the Jews, which is happening and is horrible. She is right, we need to stand with them and fight it. But, she wrote this, and I think it is exactly correct:
This is not a protest, it is a predicate for violence. At best, these people are filmed and shamed online. At worst? Just look at what happened outside of the Jewish museum in D.C. Or in Boulder, Colorado, days later.
The scariest part is that there is no centralized command, no imam issuing decrees, no party chairman drawing strategy. It’s organic now. The algorithm is the accelerant. The more aggressive the footage, the more viral the cause. You don’t need a pulpit or a politburo—you just need a phone and a target.
One day it’s a video. The next, it’s a knife or a pistol or a Molotov cocktail hurled through a synagogue window—because the digital applause doesn’t just permit the violence, it practically demands it.
You can laugh it off as fringe, or imagine I’m being hysterical. But I am not. I grew up in the clutch of Islamism, and I know where it and its derivations lead. Wait until it’s your friend. Wait until the chants echo through your neighborhood. Until you realize that what once required a uniform, a manifesto, or a mosque now needs little more than a hashtag and a trending tab. That the machinery of radicalization no longer lives in caves or compounds—but on the piece of glass inside every one of our pockets.
Almost every big American city is run by a totalitarian. LA, she is a Marxist. Loves Cuba and sees it as a model. Boston. Portland. Seattle. Chicago. Detroit. Minneapolis. Soon, NYC. All Democrats of the new far left. Often, smaller college towns, like Madison, WI, are the same.
There is no false equivalence either. The totalitarians will always bring it up to try to persuade you. This column at the Free Press has false equivalence in it, for example. The new far left will do all that it can to twist history and to twist opinion in order to grab power for itself. That’s why boys in girls' sports are okay. It’s okay to transition your children with hormones. It’s okay to see kids take over city blocks and destroy property. The Fourteenth Amendment was about birthright citizenship, even though all the dialogue and language of 1866 says it was not. Plenty of other examples. The far-leftists on the Supreme Court or so intellectually bereft, they can’t even write cogent and good opinions anymore. Kagan is the only one on the left with a brain.
I remember when I was doing hits on business news. They’d want “both sides”. So, even if 99% of people thought the market was bullish, they’d bring the 1 person on who thought it was bearish and give them equal air time. It was a false equivalence designed to keep viewers watching. Only when Obama was elected and you started to criticize him and his policies did the producers and some anchors get ruffled and tough.
How do you stop it?
Ali says, “We name it. We expose it. And we snuff it out. That means rejecting the lie that the “Free Palestine” movement is a harmless expression of solidarity with oppressed people. It’s not. It is a political warfare operation run on Maoist principles and Islamist grievances.”
I think it is more than that. We have to show up. We have to run for office. There is no way to be placid now and come out on the other side whole. It used to be we could grumble and say, “I wish they’d get off my back,” but they never did. Or, we could say we weren’t political and we’d ignore it.
That game is over. You have to get involved. That’s why it was good to see so many people from private industry join the Trump administration. Elon Musk, David Sacks, Howard Lutnick, Scott Bessent, and plenty of other people with high-paying, high-intensity day jobs left to join and fight.
It’s not just nationally, but locally.
California, run by totalitarians. Illinois, run by totalitarians. NY, run by totalitarians. Minnesota, run by totalitarians. Oregon, run by totalitarians. Washington, run by totalitarians. Massachusetts, run by totalitarians. And so on.
Data like this doesn’t matter to the new far-left Democrats. It also doesn’t stimulate a response. In fact, the poorer new residents are, the better it is for the far left, which is why they opened the border.
Illinois loses a resident every 9 minutes and 21 seconds to another state. Exiters: avg income $124K Entrants: avg income $86K This is not sustainable. If you stay in Illinois, you’re punished with more taxes to offset those who are leaving.
It is not any different than the deficit clock. Thomas Massie wears one on his lapel, but I have seen them on billboards ever since the 1970s.
Stuff was happening in our schools, and we were too busy to notice. Now we have generations of kids who are adults who can’t think objectively. Around the country, people started showing up and protesting. During Covid, we saw how the new far-left Democratic machine put them down. They ran for office. They won.
The problem for many of us on the right is that we don’t know how to show up. There is no mentorship program like there is on the left. Plus, on the right, our ideas are more diverse and dispersed. What works in one location might not work in another. It’s not like totalitarianism, which is the same everywhere. I know one person who has set up an organization for women to help.
You cannot win if you don’t show up.
remember, when they get control of the court system, they have all three branches of government and then it is over for freedom. See Illinois. They control all the courts up to the Supreme Court, and freedom loving people don't have their day in court. But, they can spend legal fees on the initial case and appeals all the way up until they lose.
Who is going to pick cotton if we lose the Civil War? (Who is going to harvest our crops if we send Illegal aliens back?)
