Yesterday, hard left-wing Democratic Governor JB Pritzker gave his budget address to the hard left-wing, gerrymandered, and Democratically controlled Illinois General Assembly.
His budget was in the red of course. After replacing the toilets in his extra mansion and paying his arrears property taxes on Astor Street in Chicago, he said he’d balance the budget when he ran for governor.
He never has. Last year, he spent $5 billion on illegal aliens. People like Pritzker are why I left Chicago. He isn’t singular. Of course, he took the time to compare Trump to Hitler. That line of tripe is so boring and exhibits a lack of intellect on his part.
Pritzker and the hard left are for gun control. Are they Hitler? The answer is no one is Hitler. He was a singular person in human history.
Since Trump was elected, there has been much chatter about “alpha males.” Trump is most certainly an alpha. Alphas take action; they don’t just talk about it. In some instances, they might ask a lot of questions. They might analyze and strategize about situations. But, when the timing is correct they move fast.
Trump had four years to plan. He’s moving fast. The only time politicians move fast is to collect a campaign donation.
The Free Press has written a bit about being heroic from time to time. It’s entering the national conversation. You do not have to die for your country to be heroic. You don’t have to be wounded, or hurt. But, you do have to engage in an action that might be out of the ordinary where the underlying cause is the right one.
One fantastic organization full of heroes is the Medal of Honor Society. They engage in a yearly convention. They go to a different city each year, and they work with local groups to help them understand what heroism is about. Here is a link to lessons for teachers that they can pass on to elementary-grade students. Each MOH recipient is an amazing person. I have been fortunate to get to know more than a few. If you ever get the chance to meet one and speak with them, or hear them speak, take it.
One Republican mouthpiece went so far as to say there are no alpha males in the entire Democratic Party today. I don’t agree with that. But, there are a lot of wimpy guys. There are also people who think they are heroic or try to position themselves as heroic when what they are fighting for makes it impossible to do so.
How do you pick a heroic cause? I’d go to first principles of the old Scottish philosophers which outlined the Humanities in the first place. They built on the principles of classical Western civilization first espoused by Plato, Socrates, Pliny, and the other ancients of Rome and Greece.
Many people today, like Pritzker, think they are doing things rooted in those first principles when in fact they are not.
Here are some of them.
Defending men in women’s sports is not heroic. It’s disgusting. It is detrimental to society. Pritzker and his hard lefties see it as heroic because they are defending the rights of the few against the many. Except, men are born as men, and women are born as women and there are definite biological differences. There is no right in the canon of classical Western Civilization to change your sex.
So, they are wrong. But, in being wrong they hurt society.
If instead they said, “At the age of consent if you want to use radical medical means to change your sex at your expense, not at the expense of society-with no special societal legal carve-outs for you.”, I don’t think the majority of Americans would have a problem with it on civil grounds. Moral, ethical, and religious grounds are a different story.
Looking at illegal immigration the other way is also not heroic. There are borders. America has a gigantic welfare estate that has created the richest poor people in the world, which is an incentive to come to America. America has a way to immigrate. I think we all agree it is broken, but there is a path. Anyone who illegally immigrates chooses not to follow that path, which hurts all the people who chose the legal path.
Even back in the golden age of immigration, immigrants were detained at Ellis Island. They just didn’t march into the country willy-nilly.
Being on the side of illegals is not heroic. In fact, given the distribution of money out of USAID, illegal immigration looks like a backdoor way to try and preserve or expand the political power of one party over another. It’s a good idea not to include illegals in any census.
Being on the side of illegals is not rooted in classical Western Civilization principles. One thing that crushed the ancient Romans was unchecked mass migration. America cannot afford it. We are trillions and trillions in debt.
Another cause the far left has embraced recently is to keep all the waste in our federal government. They are out in front of microphones on hard left networks talking about how terrible it is that the Trump Administration is finding and cutting government spending. One of the funnier ones I saw was left-wing mouthpiece Gayle King asking the Delta CEO how Trump cuts in the FAA were affecting his business after the crash of a Delta airliner in Toronto. The CEO responded that firing 300 employees out of 50,000 had no effect.
We have transparent receipts of how the US government shifted taxpayer dollars from its coffers to left-wing non-government organizations to do the bidding of the unelected bureaucracy on issues it was unable to attack due to The Constitution and Bill of Rights. It’s in the trillions of dollars.
People wonder where George Soros gets all the money to spend on these hard-left-wing causes. He didn’t earn the money he spends on these causes, and he doesn’t spend his own money on that stuff. He spends yours via the US government, which gives money to NGOs he controls.
It is not heroic to grift and enrich yourself on the backs of the citizens.
That is exactly what Pritzker and the Democrats who speak out against downsizing the government and decreasing the wasteful spending in government are defending.
Normies don't understand who Democrats really are, because they don't normally meet them. I have had the (mostly) displeasure of meeting a lot of Chicago Democrat politicians in the past. Some I got along with, and a couple others turned into friends (people I could call for a favor and who weren't blatantly disrespectful to me). A lot of them I did the minimum amount of business I needed to do with them and moved on as fast as I could. You write checks to start and build the relationship and then the size of those checks will determine how much audience time you get and whether you will get a favor to get through Chicago's entrepreneur killing system.
But then something kept happening to the ones I liked. I don't know if it's Chicago, or the Democrat party, or just our political system in general, but these people kept getting more and more corrupt and cynical. Eventually I couldn't stand to be around them. I'm speaking of mostly Chicago politicians. But I note that it seems the federal Democrats have imported a lot of the ways that Chicago Democrats have acted. I don't know when this started, but it seemed to me to become much more pronounced when Obama's team moved into the White House.
What we are seeing now is Democrats trying the same old playbook of "Democrats good heroes, Rethuglicans bad people - Nazis," but many, many more people are getting wise to this. They see what's actually happening, versus what Democrats say, and more people are getting red pilled. Social media, X, whatever. People seem to have more access to what's really going on, and I think the Left is not aware of this monumental shift as much as they should be.
The Democrats--amazingly--have decided that the response is to MOVE FURTHER LEFT. This blows my mind, because usually the Democrats are right on when it comes to messaging -- even if the messages are lies. They usually know what people want to hear.
So that tells me that the party has lost control to the extreme left, and they don't know how to come back. Even in Chicago, they are getting more and more extreme in their socialist and communist policies. I'm working my way out, but it takes time.
So when Mr. Carter talks about Democrats thinking they are heroes, I know exactly what he's talking about. I also know (like him) what they are really like behind the scenes. Most of them are not very nice people.
