Which Number is Bigger?

Here, my primary opponent is speaking about how he would manage $12 Billion of taxpayer dollars. You just need to be smart enough to know which number is bigger and put the money in that thing.

Wait, what?? I had to scratch my head when I heard it.

We cannot let Nevada’s next Treasurer be another political animal or a person with no experience. That is just insane. Tonight, in his stump speech, my opponent said the Treasurer didn’t need to know what the market interest rate was. They are just “out there”. Like, out there. We have that video too. That statement alone is disqualifying, and I think you would agree.

We were in Esmerelda County last night. The financial health of our state is at the forefront of our minds. Without a strong economy, strong jobs, and a strong economic future, what do we have?

I am not a career politician or a perennial candidate shopping for an office. Never been one. Never wanted to be one. Let me tell you a quick story about my family and me.

Why am I running for Nevada State Treasurer?

Because of a 529 savings plan.

Most of you have one. Maybe you have one for your kids. You put money away because you believe in your child’s future. You did the right things and played by the rules. You saved your money, so your kid gets a shot at something better.

When I was in Illinois, I did the same thing. I saved. I trusted the system. And then the State Treasurer lost 38% of my daughter’s college savings.

My kid’s college fund. Gone. Someone who had no business managing money was managing money.

My primary opponent is telling people he will do exactly what the Illinois Treasurer did with my daughter’s money in the 529 program when we lost 38%. He chose the bigger number, and look what happened.

Sheesh.

I put my money where my mouth is. I made a career trading MY own funds. Like so many people I have met on the trail, I fought for everything I have, and now I want to bring that financial experience to the Treasurer’s Office. The biggest difference in this race is that we have a current Treasurer who is more interested in grandstanding and climbing the political ladder, being the toast of the liberal country club elites, and my primary opponent has ZERO experience when it comes to managing our state’s funds.
