Went to see the Blackhawks play the Vegas Golden Knights last night courtesy of a friend who had tickets. Vegas is nuts for the Knights. T-Mobile is a nice arena to see a game in. It’s a different experience than an Original 6 game in Chicago.
It was comforting to see the Indian sweater. It was nice to see Toews and Kane play. They aren’t like they used to be but it brought back a lot of memories. Hawks won 2-1.
I was craving an Italian beef and some giardiniera. (You can’t get a top-notch one in Las Vegas)
The Golden Knights fans were there to see their goaltender, Marc Andre Fleury, who was the face of the franchise. Vegas had a love affair with Fleury that is hard to explain. NHL Salary cap bull forced the Knights to send him to the Blackhawks. The Hawks might think about trading Fleury to a team that has a chance to win. Great players like him deserve that. Fleury is at the end of his career.
I would love to see Kane and Toews get a chance to win a Stanley Cup again, but I don’t think it will be with the Blackhawks. But, boy, it sure was fun back in the day. Kane is 33 and Toews will be 34 in April. How many years do they have left?
I was glad the Hawks sent Duncan Keith to a team that has a chance to win one.
They deserve it for what they did in Chicago.
It sure was nice to see them skate.
Gotta Love a nice Italian Beef (wet) with giardiniera!
