Big Appointment
Trump has made a lot of cabinet appointments. Since they are DC outsiders, they ruffle feathers.
He is going after the Deep State. This is a good thing and will benefit all Americans, even the socialists that hate him.
RFK Jr gets a lot of pub as HHS secy and so do the other health appointments. But they cannot do anything without a Secretary of Agriculture who comes with a wrecking ball profile too.
Ag is the most heavily subsidized industry in the US. It has been for 90 years now, since The New Deal. Additionally because Ag oversees FUTURES trading and works closely with the CFTC, it has a huge say in crypto
You want to get corn syrup out of come and ethanol out of gasoline? Sec of Ag can put in place policies to make that happen. Lemme know when Republicans in Iowa along with the rest of the Farm Belt are on board.
The subsidies in Ag have created a Gordian Knot that will be almost impossible to untie-especially given that virtually every nation subsidizes and protects their own Big Ag with trade barriers
We can dream but there are clear realizations we must have to execute on dismantling the Deep State.
Im a little torn on this. Doesn’t a nation have to ensure they can produce enough food (and other things) to be self sufficient? If we were to buy a product made in a third world country with almost slave labor at their cost no one in america could make a profit off of that same product.
Great point, Jeff. We put 40% of our corn crop into our gas tanks - that is an indicator of some serious issues on many levels.
