Very good observations Jeffery. Two great comments from the article:
"He got more done in a week than Biden did in a career." and "You can’t win if you don’t prepare to win." I would add that "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity". Let's all hope President Trump stays lucky.
Elon and X and the podcast community will keep all of these RINOs on a short leash, merely by exposing their actions to sunlight. Every time a RINO tries to act against common sense and the will of the people they will be called out, and they will crumble simply because they are all weak people and cannot avoid the sunlight when it’s surrounding them and following them everywhere.
When RINO Joni Ernst, a total sellout to the people of Iowa, started to waffle on Pete Hegseth, Charlie Kirk quickly brought her to heel, like Cesar Millan instantly training an insubordinate dog. X and the podcasters are like a shock collar to the RINOs. Just enjoy the show as the shock collars are triggered.
Exhibit A: they didn’t know what hit them after AI instantly went through their 1500 page pork barrel Continuing Resolution and they had to walk it back in a few hours. They’re totally unprepared for the new We The People world of politics. Their grift is over.
“Today, Republicans who support small, limited government, vastly reduced spending, and strong borders need to announce that they are primarying Cassidy of Louisiana, Cornyn of Texas, Graham of South Carolina, Hagerty of Tennessee, and Tillis of North Carolina.
“All of them need to go. You can live with Collins in Maine unless you know a better option. Maine is basically a blue state. The others are red states and we need actual conservatives in them.
“Feel free to add your own. The floor is open for suggestions.”
I live in Texas and we also need to primary at least the 36 Texas House reps who voted with Texas Ds for House speaker.
The cancellation of FEMA is a sound idea for many of the reasons Trump articulated.
1. They are unresponsive and slow to act when they finally respond. This has been true forever, just ask New Orleans about Hurrican Katrina wherein 1833 died.
2. They are politically poisoned -- no help in WNC for folks with Trump signs.
3. They are expensive, a gigantic bureaucracy and an unnecessary level of additional overhead.
4. They do not know the lay of the land when they finally do respond.
Replace them with block grants to the states -- matching grants wherein the state kicks in up to a 100% match -- to be held for individual disasters in that state.
A state like Montana may get a small amount whilst Florida and California may need much more.
Make each state appoint a disbursement master and require an independent audit in order to obtain additional funding.
The California Coastal Commission will attempt to prevent every bit of reconstruction along the coast. Count on it.
With the improvements worth nothing, this is the cheapest price they will ever see to seize the dirt. People are already mumbling about that.
The increased building code regs, the approval process, and the impending new regulations -- fire sprinkles on roofs, no more wood exteriors, no flammable landscaping -- will make rebuilding in California impossible.
Many of those homes would not have been rebuildable under current regs. There will be more as yet unwritten regs to deal with the hind sighted fire threat.
In addition, there will be a huge escalation in building costs and insurance will be unattainable.
Some clever SOB needs to create a structured fire insurance fund whereby the residents self-insure for the first $100,000 and then layer in tiers of $1MM, $5MM, $10MM, and an excess umbrella above that.
The gov't of California can make all those issues disappear with Trump's aid.
One thing I hope that Trump or someone keeps pointing out is CA's RR to nowhere. XX (maybe XXX) billions spent on consultants and studies and consultants to study the studies and studies to study the consultants but zero miles of track. Any money given to the CA politicians will go the same way. Trump should say. Yes to the money, no to anyone in CA having any say in how it's spent. Any red tape the spigot shuts off.
You also can't win if you don't have a plan. Neither Trump nor his allies have communicated any realistic path to reducing the deficit. It's mostly "dorm room bullshit"

It's a new dynamic. There isn't just a new Sheriff in town. It's something that the "Rich Men of Richmond" haven't faced before.

Excellent piece!
This part made me stand up and cheer:

Just found out that you take tongue in cheek criticism far better than Elizabeth Nixon does. :)
Another great column. Thank you.

They do not want that to happen.

Wish that this comment was more intellectual, but Karen Bass is a total moron. Trump schooled her in having a brain.
Read up on her history and who she actually is. It will be quite a surprise. It is hard to find her history, but she's an avowed terrorist.

Joel Pollak of Breitbart, and a resident of Pacific Palisades, proposed to President Trump that he appoint a Special Master to oversee any Federal funds for CA, as was done for 9/11. Be sure to watch the video. Trump said it’s a great idea. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/01/24/donald-trump-breitbart-is-fantastic/
Great idea. Hope he does it. Let the screaming, grinding and gnashing of teeth begin.
I doubt Mitch is sentient enough to know what he’s doing. Most likely an aide directed his vote ala Senator Weinstein.
Dr. Thomas Seyfried has figured out how to cure cancer.

I think that Trump has communicated a plan. It might not be one you like. Growth, and cutting spending via $DOGE etc
I'd take any plan where there is more than hand waving. So far he's communicated a whole bunch of economic baloney.
• DOGE is now a government IT improvement program. Necessary, but not sufficient
• Trump's tariffs cannot both raise revenue and protect industry at the same time.
https://thedailyeconomy.org/article/five-myths-about-tariffs/
• His tariff rhetoric gives China an opening to build economic ties with US trading partners
• He's still prattling on about tax free tips
We really do need more growth, and maybe some of his initiatives will help. But growth by itself will not cover the deficits and existing debt.
