Thank you for a very positive Independence Day message. It was nice to read.
Not to take the luster off of it, but I now wonder what Leftists think on this day. It used to be that just about everyone celebrated this day. I know that Leftists don't like to celebrate it, or they are agnostic at best. It reveals everything about them, and how myopic they are.
On the 4th I get gaudy, with as much Red, White and Blue as I can display and wear. I want Leftists to see it, and to know that their vision is a failure. More importantly, I want my family to carry this tradition forward, and to experience the joy of celebrating. We do so much commiserating what Leftists have done to our culture and country, that it's time to celebrate and be optimistic.
Tomorrow will be my 31st Independence Day, I plan to celebrate with aforementioned color palette and sincere thanks to the Founders if not with pomp and guns: I live in NY, drop a tear for me...
Great post Jeff. Quoting Adams was an inspiration and a reminder of what our Independence Day is all about. No guilt, no shame. Enjoy the north woods with your family, hope the mosquitoes and deer flies are tolerable. God Bless the USA!
In the limited reading of American history that I’ve done, particularly the time of the founding, I think there’s always been the awful, ungrateful and ill-informed among us. The major difference today is that they have a much bigger soapbox thanks to social media. Work hard, love your God and family, treasure your friends and cherish our freedom. We will overwhelm the terribles.

Happy 4th!
We escaped NY 4 years ago... come join us in NC!
I tried clicking the like button five times. That doesn't work the way I wanted it to.

Well said Mr Carter! God Bless America!
