They Still Don't Get It

Rained cats and dogs here in northern Minnesota. While the mosquitoes will thrive and attack me in a few days, we needed the rain.

We were watching the Tucker Carlson interview with the head of Capitol Police on January 6th. Here is a link. Worth your time whether you absolutely detest Trump or like him.

I think to this day the card-carrying elites and the Deep State along with Democrats who aren’t card-carrying elites have nary a clue why Trump came to power.

Watch the actions of people around the actions of January 6th compared to the riots in 2020. Watch the way you are treated under the law compared to Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul, or Hunter Biden, or Hillary Clinton. When Congresspeople make millions in stock trading and you can’t, how do you think people feel? When Eric Sawell can sleep with a Chinese spy and still command respect and his positions of power within the Democratic Party, what do you think people feel? When people like Mitt Romney are elected using one platform and then act on another, how do you think voters feel?

On local levels, when George Soros elected District Attorneys set criminals free and crime run amok, what is the attitude of people? When people like corrupt Chicago politicians Michael Madigan and Ed Burke get away with brazen corruption at taxpayer expense, where are people’s heads? By the way, a lot of local officials all over the country are like Michael Madigan.

When Biden’s secretary Mayorkos blatantly lies about the border to Congress and then Sanctuary Cities Mayors go crazy because a mere 20,000 illegal alien criminals enter their city, what do normal people think?

When they see abnormalities in the way votes are counted, it makes them suspicious. When they see double standards on Covid, they go along for a bit, then get ticked when they see elites do what they want to do and they are stuck inside.

They feel powerless.

In some cases, they move to places where the government is less in their face and less important. Texas and Florida are examples of that. By definition, lower-tax cities/states empower citizens more than high-tax places.

When it comes to electing people, they elect Trump. Why? He makes them feel empowered.

Psychologists can tell you the difference in behavior between empowered people and unempowered people.

Regular readers of my blog know I am not a huge fan of Trump. He’s egotistical. He is thin-skinned. He isn’t polite or subtle. He doesn’t have the cutting sense of satire or humor that Reagan did. Many of the people he put around him weren’t very good, some were and some like Betsy DeVos got a bad rap. When people criticize him, he accuses them of not being loyal. Many of his policies were good, but some were just populist pablum.

He’s blunt and people understand him. Plus, he understands that there is a lot wrong in America for the average American. The system puts elites and the politically connected ahead of them.

The more you see the entire apparatus of the Deep State and Uniparty mobilize against him and use a double standard of justice against him versus other politicians, the more it makes you want to see him get in office again just to wreak havoc on the entire thing. If you thought Trump was a bull in a china shop in his last term, I suspect if he happens to get elected again, there will be nothing left of the china shop. That might be a feature and not a bug.

For sure, the country certainly isn’t operating the way the Founders envisioned.

I watch the whole Biden corruption scandal and none of it surprises me. What surprises me is how the left rises to explain it away. How does this not end violently? Especially if any Republican gets elected to the Presidency, let alone Trump.
