The rest of the world thinks we're free because we're rich, instead we are rich because we're free.

Since the "War on Poverty" started in the mid 1960s we have spent an astounding $ 25 trillion PLUS on poverty alleviation. In that time the poverty rate went from 15% to.....15% currently. How nice that all the money was basically just spent for nothing.

Why is it that with this level of spending there is no accountability, no after action analysis, no cost benefit analysis? The fact that there is not, but all these program merrily run along tells you everything about what happens in Washington, DC.

Since it's father's day, I'd also like to point out that they are gunning for masculinity, beyond just the wealth creators. And, oh, are they winding up.

Freakish looking men dressed in woman's attire, all of the fatherless homes, drag queens in elementary schools. It's not just pride day, mind you, it's a months worth of adoration of perversion. We take a day to celebrate everything else.

Shit canning masculinity (and God) has consequences. Happy father's day, Jeff.

A relatively short (15 min) podcast from Bari Weiss. She has guest Katherine Boyle (whom you may or may not know) talking about an "adventurous, optimistic, forward-thinking, risk-taking attitude" being what made American great, and can make it that way again. Not earth-shattering thoughts, but refreshing to hear because we are bludgeoned every day from our 'leaders', media, universities, and lost CEOs about how we have to sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice our pursuit of great, and instead pay for the 'common good'. Which seems to mean whatever they want it to mean. Here's a link to the podcast: https://www.honestlypod.com/podcast/episode/20163445/the-case-for-american-seriousness

It appears that Democrats would rather rule over a wasteland than a thriving community as long as they can retain their power. This is all I can conclude after watching what has happened to Illinois and Chicago. When the makers and good people who object to their rule leave, to them it’s a good thing as it makes their job easier and consolidates their power. Sad but true.

re Wealth and Political Power, see Don Sensing's post from 2014:

...overstated, surely, but the trends are definitely running in that direction.

Not sure 'bean counters' is the right word...the term is generally applied to everyone in the field of finance, whether in the finance department of a company or somebody running a fund.

More 'bean grabbers', I think.
