Urban??? Denver... was CO on your radar? Weather the issue?

Great question. I don't ski.....I hate snow.....Denver is a great town, great airport etc. However, if I was a skier, I might choose Salt Lake because the slopes are closer. But, I alas, no one wants to see me on skis. Tried it once at Breckenridge when I was in my 30s. Lived in SLC as a 3rd grader (never skied then since we didn't have the money).

I might also add, the last time I was in Denver I stayed downtown near that whole walkway thingy. Full of methheads. Not sure I'd be hanging out there. I went to the USAFA for a short time and the entire area is unbelievably beautiful.

Yeah 16th street mall can be sketchy... but not sure if you do smaller cities CO springs is right up your alley politically & as you know visiting USAFA just stunning... also Northern CO is totally different go by Fort Collins east of town feels very Midwest green lakes etc. Weld county is Nebraska with different plates

I think if I was gonna do Ft. Collins, I'd do Wyoming... : )

Fort Collins much nicer than Cheyenne but WY is very close & Northern CO growth will be at the border eventually
