Funny, everyone was called a conspiracy theorist that said the global warming cult was going to ban gas stoves. Never mind that natural gas doesn’t contribute whatsoever to global warming but the cult is hell-bent on getting rid of anything that seems like it contributes to global warming.
The state of New York banned gas stoves in new development. California and Illinois won’t be far behind.
By this logic, why aren’t gas clothes dryers banned? Shouldn’t pro laundromats have to switch all their equipment out? Shouldn’t dry cleaners be banned from using gas.
Heck, the generation of electricity contributes to global warming. Why aren’t we eating raw food? Why aren’t New Yorkers going to the East River and scrubbing their clothes on a washboard and banging them on rocks to get them clean? After all, we need to save the planet or something?
The EU is buying up land from Dutch farmers and taking it out of production. Why not allow them to till the land with horses and a plow? Forgot, horses contribute to global warming. Why not let them till by hand?
There is no intellectual fact-based data-based argument that will placate them. These people are crazy at best, sinister at worst. I don’t have a lot of patience for them anymore.
A FB friend was observing that he doesn't ever find anyone interested in arguing religion anymore, whereas such discussions were quite common 15 years ago. My suggestion was that for a lot of people, political ideology serves in effect as a religion.
Areas in California have already tried. Lawsuits have slowed down their attempts so far. https://calcoastnews.com/2023/04/san-luis-obispo-city-council-suspends-natural-gas-ban/
