My good buddy Kevin married a beautiful girl named Therese. He married up, trust me. They are still married despite Kevin’s proclivities to act up with his friends. Not that I had anything to do with that. What happens in Vegas, and among friends stays in Vegas and among friends.
His father-in-law had created a drink called “The Butterfield”. We used to like to knock a few back with him until he passed away a few years ago. It’s a riff on a classic Manhattan. I’d use Rye whiskey since it’s spicier than regular bourbon. Given that Tom was Irish, using an Irish whiskey would not be out of line.
The damn groundhog thinks we have 6 more weeks of winter. I thought I would share the secret Butterfield recipe with you. It’s been a cold winter here in Las Vegas and it looks like for the next week it will continue. Another buddy of mine, Keith, calls winter “brown season” and summer “clear season”. You can figure out the rest.
Here is the recipe for a perfect Butterfield cocktail created by Mr. Thomas Gallagher many years ago. You know if the Irish made it up, it must be good.
Nor Cal overnights still producing frost past mid-Feb. Global warming is a bitch. Drink up and thanks for sharing.
Cheers!
