I am sick and tired of RINO’s. FWIW I’m calling both of my NC senators today. I want to ask them why they both sought Trump’s endorsement if they are now going to act like RINO’s?
Woodrow Wilson was an evil racist. Trump needs to dismantle everything Wilson put in place. If anyone complains, just point out Wilson’s disgusting racism. Play the game.
The voting citizens in this country selected Donald Trump for a good reason and Mitch McConnell should pay attention to that. Don't let the Republicans screw this up before Donald Trump even takes office.
The focus of the Republican Party should be to cooperate with Donald Trump and help him instead of hurting him. This way they stand a chance of annihilating the Democrats in the midterms in 2 years and putting through massive changes for the better in this country to save us from becoming a nation that is halfway to Venezuela.
One of the original arguments for having election of Senators, was a split in the state legislature or between the legislature and the governor between parties, resulting in empty Senate seats as they could not agree to a candidate. I would argue that this was actually a feature as well. If the governor of one party could nominate a person agreeable to the other party controlling the legislature, they would more likely be of the center or at least truly represent the State. And, if they didn't decide, well they had to pay the penalty of not being represented in the US Senate. Again, a stick to get them to agree.
Before trying to repeal the 17th Amendment maybe the 9th and 10th Amendements should be exercized more vigorously. The first 10 Amendments have the advantage of being argued by the "founders". It has gotten easier over the years to see every problem as a federal one instead of a stae/local one with the added advantage of the feds paying for the "solution". Hence we have an outsized federal bureaucracy with their long noses up everyone's ass.
This argument for me comes down to governance. When the Senate sees its role as full obstruction of a President, including slow walking approval of nominees, it is not acting as a "cooling saucer" but instead as a dam.
The result is frustrated waters that might breach the proverbial dam...which is where we are now. For example, there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for the lack of orderly government budgets. The initial fault for this rests in the House, but the Senate has again acted to obstruct.
Likewise, why is the Senate not more active in dealing with its constitutional duties re. treaties? I could name several example--one glaring example is the Paris Climate Accords which should have prompted vigorous debate in the Senate.
While McConnell congratulates himself from sparing us Merrick Garland as a Supreme Court Justice, he was only middling in ensuring quick resolution for federal judges. The king of examiners of the judges is Sen Kennedy of LA. I vastly prefer many more Kennedys than Thunes and Cornyns.
Thank you, Senator Kennedy, for a simple accurate statement which is an assessment of the meaning of this Presidential election:
“Republicans aren’t perfect, but the other side is crazy. And President Trump is going to do things differently, and we will pick a leader who will help him do that.”
Please thank your uncle as our Vietnam 'fathers' trained us Desert Storm guys for war and a country to appreciate them. I thank and pray for these guys daily. Our country put them through hell in many ways.
Please do not forget the Afghanny and Iraq folks as well as our government and their MIC lobbyists failed them just like Vietnam. Embarrassing.
Donald Trump told the Taliban leaders that he knows where they live and will kill them if they harmed our guys. Nobody was harmed. He sent one missile to kill the terrorist leader(Soleimani) that was treated specially in the EU for decades. Most importantly, he developed hydrocarbon energy to the point where supply exceeded demand for the first time in decades thereby neutering all of our oil-based enemies.
Contrast all of these thinking back to the Korean war: economic leverage is our ultimate weapon. Why didn't most of Trump's predecessors use this? You know the answer.
I'm not recommending any position or direction but I read someplace that Senate Majority Leader is not a statutory position (like in the House). Officially there are no rules regarding who can be selected. I've heard suggestions of JD Vance, but also of no one.

I agree about repealing the 17th Amendment.
Also, Sen. Scott for majority leader over both Thune and Cornyn — who definitely needs to be primaried (I think it should be Chip Roy).
As a TX resident I agree wholeheartedly. Cornyn does not represent us well at all and he is unbelievably unresponsive.

Hopefully that is not too ambiguous 😄
McConnel is Uniparty along with Cornyn and Thune. There needs to be an MAGA asteroid for these grifting dinosaurs.

Right, that could happen in a state like Kentucky right now.
In fact, EVERY LAW passed from 1910 to 1930 should be repealed. ESPECIALLY the 16th Amendment.

First of all, great post!
