Judging from the response of thousands (if not millions) already, it seems that TPUSA can't be defeated by the bullet of an assassin.
His team, his wife and many others are determined, and authentic. Those traits lead to a lasting movement. Moreover, Kirk's foundation of witness to a living savior, Jesus, is the most potent component of all.
Agree. King was not defeated either. King was for equal rights for everyone regardless of skin color....Charlie was trying to bring our Republic and classical liberalism back.
10s of millions of our young will remember Charlie and not Barack who came with false promises.
Baracks crew created the Martyr.
Shelby, Sowell, Elder, Frederick Douglass... Eddie Murphy(yes, he made similar waves).
Problem is... Nobody has to really work for something. Thankfully, I work for a profitable American OEM where young kids work and build things. They are reasonably happy. They grow and move. They drive nice cars. They own property, albeit much less than 2019 before Xiden and his Scamdemic, but they know what is possible and will not accept less.
Jeff, I personally feel that this is one of the best articles you have posted since I started following you from the beginning. It made me sick and angry to degree seeing how the left turned George Floyd into some kind of hero.
I was working at the golf course the other day when I got into a confrontation with a guy who said "He got what he disserved" about Charlie Kirk. I called the scumbag out right in front of the guys he was playing with, then told him to get away from me before I did something that would have gotten me thrown in jail and most likely sued!
Last night I watched a courageous woman, Charlie's widow stand up in front of the nation and promise to keep Charlie's movement alive and thrive! What an inspiration!
God bless you and all of my fellow Americans who seek the truth and a better way of life! My Turning Point USA continue to grow and the message be spread far and wide!!!!!!
Thanks! I do think you have to call them out to their face. Maybe only old traders are the ones to do that. Made me sick and angry about Floyd too. Of course if anyone criticized Floyd you were a racist. If you pointed out that they were burning down cities and looting, you were a racist. If you further pointed out that they were doing that in the midst of a Covid lockdown, you were racist and anti-science because Covid doesn't spread during riots.
These are some great posts that you're writing, Jeff. Very much appreciate your sound thinking and articulating these important thoughts. I unsuccessfully tried to respond to one of your posts the other day, probably user error. I just took for granted that Charlie Kirk and Turning Point would always be there. He provided a baseline that we could count on and go about our business. Shockingly brilliant young man. Just discovered that my 24 year old son is a fan. We've never talked about Charlie until now. I'd like to think that this fire burning in my heart isn't just a reaction to the tragedy but an awakening. Something has changed. There's no going back. At my stage of life, if I'm feeling this what are these young people feeling? We've got to give them everything we can.
After seeing the worldwide response to Charlie’s murder I’m convinced that this is indeed an inflection point. Evil , which is cloaked in Leftist communist ideology, is going to be on the run. The push back has begun in earnest.
This is merely a partial list. Nearly ALL of the politically motivated violence in America is committed by one side. This is not a both sides thing. This is a one side thing. (Tweet by Matt Walsh)
I agree Jeff. I never met Charlie but was an ardent follower of Turning Point. Charlie was down to earth and authentic but he was also blessed with a sharp intellect and an inate ability to connect with people (or read people), especially those that hadn't been exposed to the values and vision he had for a civil society. I agree wholeheartedly, Charlie's quest for a civil society is more powerful than the authoritarian society offered by the lies on the left.
The most galvanizing aspect of our moment is that there was no one, literally not one public person, who was as committed for so long to being kind to *anyone* who would talk with him, on any topic, responding firmly but with patience and gentle humor. I'd never listened to his stuff before and was only vaguely aware of who he was. Had no idea he was the "prove me wrong" guy. In my estimation, fwiw, he was working first and foremost to help young adults (his peers) use their own brains instead of defaulting to cult tropes, while also showing his supporters /how/ to be kinder and more respectful. Demonstrating for incredibly frustrated people that, nevertheless: "Here's a way to have these conversations." Even in this heated moment, it seems no one can dig up a clip or even anecdote of him doing anything else.
People celebrating the bloody slaughter of *that* guy must repulse anyone with a remaining shred of humanity. People calling *that* guy the new hate-filled orange-man Hitler disorients anyone with a memory of reason or sanity.
https://thefederalist.com/2025/04/07/survey-55-of-self-identified-leftists-say-killing-trump-is-justifiable/ The report, produced by the Network of Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) in partnership with Rutgers University’s Social Perception Lab, finds a broader “assassination culture” appears to be “emerging within segments of the U.S. public on the extreme left, with expanding targets now including figures such as Donald Trump.”
Less than a year after assassination attempts on then-presidential candidate Trump and the literally explosive violence against Musk’s Tesla electric vehicles, it’s no secret that leftists are ratcheting up violent rhetoric and actions. The more troubling trend is that an “assassination culture” isn’t just coming from the “fringe” left.
“These attitudes are not fringe — they reflect an emergent assassination culture, grounded in far-left authoritarianism and increasingly normalized in digital discourse,” states the report, titled, “Assassination Culture: How Burning Teslas and Killing Billionaires Became a Meme Aesthetic for Political Violence.”
Unfortunately, Obama jump started this victim mentality and race baiting with the incidents in Ferguson, Missouri. Things have only gotten worse in mainstream media and on the left since then, with what would have been considered utterly abhorrent merely a couple of decades ago, referring to political opponents as "fascists and Nazis", advocating for violence, rioting and knowing they were going to be referred to as mostly peaceful protesters, and so much more, all the while denying that their side of the political aisle has been lying about so many important things. Not only have I been vacillating between grief and anger, I have been vacillating between wanting to have civil discourse and wanting to put people in their place, by shredding them and bringing them to their knees, verbally or otherwise. They need to be called out and punished and that goes for politicians and professors and business people and run of the mill employees and run of the mill family and friends and told in no uncertain terms that what they have stated is unacceptable. Otherwise we will have a second Civil War.
Charlie Kirk was the very rare individual who was willing to speak truth with passion, yet avoid harsh put-downs of those he debated. We have become a less Civil society as the result of the conduct of those on the left and not the conduct of those on the right, when looking at the big picture. Anybody can pluck one or two or three individuals or groups out on any side, but the reality is, I've been warning for years that the exponential growth of horrific inflammatory rhetoric, threats of violence and actual violence in the forms of riots and now assassinations coming from the left will take down this nation if it is not stopped.
We must collectively address those egregious terms when they are used because otherwise the lunatics will continue to become emboldened.
The First Amendment does guarantee Free speech but does not guarantee the right to incite violence, advocate violence against innocents or call for murder. I have more than once told people if you yell "bomb" in an airport, or walk up to a politician with security detail and threaten him or her, you'll find out about restrictions on Free speech.
I don't have all the answers, but it would go a long way if we reinstated what Obama got rid of, with regard to Smith-Mundt. We need to go back to holding mainstream media accountable for the truth or they are forced to be labeled as entertainment instead of news, because our society deteriorated noticeably and quickly once that was wiped out.
It is my fervent hope, wish and prayer that the legacy of Charlie Kirk will be a generation of people who learn to look beyond soundbites and headlines and think for themselves and utilize at least a modicum of deductive reasoning and critical analysis skills, which have been sorely lacking in recent times and not be afraid to share the truth with their peers. There's a right way and a wrong way to talk to others and he was superb at straightening out people in a relatively considerate way and this nation would be much better if more of us would do that.

To your point, some people are calling Kirk a Civil Rights leader.

I agree—it's one of your better ones, Jeff. The article you referenced from Laura was very well written as well.

The left has been selling the biggest lie of them all: a life without consequences…

His widow is impressive. If she steps up and becomes the leader of the movement, it could go even further.

The narrative that the Left is "more" violent than the right is a.) incorrect and b.) fuelling permission for more violence.
David French wrote about it today. Both the Left and Right are suffering greatly from conformation bias.
