That is his identity. And a man will do ANYTHING to protect and further his own identity. It is after all, who he IS!!! As a result, all future decision, votes, etc. will be taken to protect his identity as a Senator. Nothing else matters. Certainly not principles.

"but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations".
