Interesting observations Mr Carter. I think you're right. I refuse to go quietly into the "good night". And after all the years of abuse for not agreeing with their orthodoxy I'm completely fed up. My wife has wished me to temper my comments for the sake of....

I had to stop the analogy cause I'm not sure what I was tempering my comments for. My liberal siblings who think I'm a Nazi? They're not worth it. My parents, who I promised to never turn my back on family? I'm good with that. The shite is hitting the fan, just not in a way my smug Marxist family members thought could ever be possible. I may seem angry but I'm totally comfortable in my knowing.

This comment is also related to the previous post, Window to The Weird and Hopelessly Lost.

There is a groundswell of anti-Trump activity going on all over the country and especially in places where non-Democrats are dominant. I'm pretty sure that some of it is astroturfed, at least the funding and publication of its activities, however there are also a lot of angry Democrats who know that they can misbehave without consequences.

Angry letters to the editor, taking over "townhall meetings", and just being generally annoying to their acquaintances, friends, and relatives are just some of the rhetorical devices in use. Always with the emotion and anger. The deeds that Trump et al are accused of having done almost always fake or else something we who voted for Trump actually wanted done anyway (like reducing fraud and corruption).

At the same time, there is an ongoing judicial takeover of the presidency. Rogue judges in judicial branch are attempting to curtail activities that are constitutionally defined as part of the executive branch's duties. Just this morning, "Democrat judge blocks deportation of Venezuelan terrorist gang members". Unfortunately, this coup seems to have been unexpected (thus far) and the longer its efforts are allowed to continue, the nastier will be the consequences when Trump et al push back against these judges.

The idea is to, at minimum, create FUD among the independents and the RINOs that will slow down the rate of the changes and prepare for 2026. The notion that merely electing Trump et al is enough is a dangerous vanity. The war, so to speak, is just beginning.

Interesting observations, and I've seen a lot of the same. I wonder if the bad behavior will work? In the 1980s 1990s it probably would have because the perception of most people would have been filtered through the dominant media. I just wonder how many people are persuaded by this behavior? And how many are persuaded these people are crazy, independent of the political message? Vandalizing some poor guys Tesla will not likely influence many independents to hate Trump.

There's Bad Behavior and there's behaving badly. The former is the "crazy" you reference like crimes, arson in particular, but can also include assaults. Most people are not persuaded by this.

There are people who can be convinced by the intensity of strongly held opinions (well, they seem to feel strongly about this, maybe there's something there). Even if the opinion is nothing but rhetoric (without factual basis). It is these people who are amenable to FUD and are the targets of all these efforts. Notice that they are occurring in Republican districts not Democrat.

So, behaving badly covers people getting in the face of their acquaintances, friends, and relatives, taking advantage of the fact that most people won't fight back in the interests of peace and just getting along. I'm talking about creating uncomfortable situations (https://x.com/BreitbartNews/status/1900700893529468956).

I'm talking about showing up at real meetings and taking over (https://www.yahoo.com/news/republican-heckled-town-hall-over-180025442.html) or being a nuisance (https://www.mercurynews.com/2025/02/25/idaho-town-hall-woman-dragged-out/). I'm talking about lying outright about what Trump et al are up to (Musk is going to eliminate Social Security). The letter to the editor that Mr Carter referenced in the previous post is a great example of this.

Reed Hoffman continues to put big money behind various ant-Trump efforts. Reed Hoffman is a founder and former chairman of LinkedIn. Perhaps the loathsome Hoffman is behind the lib effort on LinkedIn, where he presumably has residual influence.

I wondered that as well.

Hoffman's actions are that of pond scum imho.

I too have noticed LinkedIn comments and also more of a push from Linked In to get me to follow certain people, etc. etc. I mostly ignore it. When someone makes specific comments that I agree with, I will chime in--who the heck cares what my "network" thinks. They either know me and can agree (or disagree politely) or they only see me as a "contact" that can be leveraged for their own purposes. Who cares what folks like that think?

After the horrors of Hurricane Helene and the absolute disgrace of how the Biden admin handled it, I posted a long comment on Linked In. Most folks ignored me, a few of the more rabid contacts (mostly older lib cousins) pushed back aggressively citing NYT and other propaganda. As it transpired, my points were right.

One contact, an old school friend who is predictably Leftish given her career in academia did finally concede, after much back and forth, that I had a point. She like so many of her peers had no idea that people couldn't leave Asheville as all the folks she knew had sufficient $$ to evacuate themselves.

Far too many people have absolutely NO idea how others are living in the US now.

My commercial real estate husband has said his LinkedIn is (and has been for last few years) mostly women congratulating women, makes me think of the Julia videos during Obama era. Could they be their targeted audience?

I don't think that is wrong. That's the LinkedIn algorithm. I laughed pretty hard when I saw all the congratulatory BS when 1871 closed....."1871 isn't a place it's an idea". I was there when it opened and it was all about place. Hahahaha

I’ve noticed it. It’s is simply a Resume Billboard for me, and provides an opportunity to give my Connections an AttaBoy! When they’ve done well for themselves and their families. I’m retired now, and consulting, and I don’t advertise. That’s the value of Connections. But, I don’t like political in my conversations. It turns me off, both sides. Let’s just do business and get on with our own lives, however we wish to lead them.

Talking to some - there is thought that Fetterman will emerge as the 'everyman' candidate. I'd take him more seriously if he didn't vote 100% w/Schumer on matters of importance (Hegseth nomination, for example).
