All politics is eventually local.

I've been watching and wondering what has been going on in Nevada for some time. This explains a lot. There have been two very good GOP Senate candidates over the last two major elections. Neither one can beat Jackie Rosen? That seems lame. A bit of organized hard work should have been able to remove that hurdle pretty easily.

We left OC, CA in 2018 for Charlotte, NC. It has been wonderful to have all our votes matter (5 this year, with our youngest voting.)

But locally and state-wide, it is shockingly frustrating. Sen Tillis only speaks to anything in NC to disavow himself from someone. Never to promote This time, to disavow himself from as our Governor candidate , Robinson. It cost us so much.

I’m on a small christian school board and we postponed a meeting to wait on the results. The state has introduced a form of school choice- not the best one. But, it has benefited many of our families. Democrats are already planning to gut it.

I have called Tillis’ office ticked off; he doesn’t care. His chief of staff is not even remotely from NC and has quite the NE/weak GOP resume. I went to Women’s Republican group in Charlotte when we arrived here, but it’s just prevent defense at its best and certainly a good ole boys club.

We’ll leave NC if it goes purple/blue. Didn’t uproot from CA for stupid local that eventually breaks the state level and up.

I’ve marveled at folks here and their clueless perspective on how states go single party/blue.

They over rode the Gov veto! School choice lives in NC

Very thankful for this. Stein is promising to gut this. We’ll see. I’m hopeful school choice is too entrenched/popular and the unions will have to compromise, or even better just accept it!

I left illinois last year. Spent around 8 to 9 months in thailand and just spent another quarter in Uruguay. I have to say - if your thing is meat, go to Uruguay. OMG and its cheap. Think the best 14 oz filet you have ever had and next think $30 today, not $150 at a steakhouse downtown or anywhere else. Close next week on a townhome in houston. I thought about vegas, but real estate not anywhere as cheap as texas. Got the feeling a couple of months ago that the Donald was going to win and it should be ok for the next 4 years. Plan on availing myself of retirement visa status in either Spain or Italy in a few years. I liked thailand, but it has issues. want to be back in the states where i can get whatever i want when i want it. Uruguay was nice, but without health insurance, the switzerland of south america showed its switzerland side.

I agree with Steven K. Bannon when he says Harry Reid&Co. built a very 'professional' cartel in Nevada to steal everything. My dad grew up in Vegas and actually became part of the political grift there until he was caught by the Mob and kicked out of town.

Watch the movie Casino as it is a very good representation of the state, especially the Vegas region.

Also, listen to Tucka interview Rod Blagojevich. Our federal government at certain levels has always been fundamentally corrupt. Just read "Handsome Johnny: The Life and Death of Johnny Rosselli: Gentleman Gangster, Hollywood Producer, CIA Assassin". You will learn much.
