Illegal immigration is not materially different from a foreign invasion. What if 10 million Americans just up and moved to Mexico or China? Do you think their governments would just take it? The US Federal Government, at least the executive branch, in cahoots with globalists at the UN, has declared war on the US Constitution and the non-government employees of this nation. This reality cannot go on much longer unconfronted.

Its somewhat diffrent. Americans dont see the immigrant to the past states of Mexico, and revolution of Texas or California has a problem. Immigration is good in all senses. Go eat some tacos, use tech made by asian coders and have sex with a european.

Legal immigration is just fine and dandy. Illegal immigration is not. Because it’s illegal. Get it?

I concur. Excellent piece and I do think this border issue is the wedge that will start the divide. I’m struggling to see the “middle” position on this issue

I have a misguided nephew who finally came to the USA in 2022 THE LEGAL WAY with his parents and sibling after a nearly 15 year wait, and all of the frustration associated with the waiting. Despite all of what he had to go through, including fees to be paid, etc. he somehow believes letting all of these illegal immigrants invade our country and be coddled on US taxpayer dollars is the right and compassionate thing to do. Boggles my mind...

immigrants give more to the US economy than take away.

Legal immigrants do, and the documents they sign in order to become US residents, on a path to citizenship, attests to them not becoming a burden to the State (US government and taxpayers). None of those expectations and promises from this current wave of illegal immigrant invaders pouring across our southern border. But they get set up with a free bus or plane ticket, free housing, free health, etc. None of my relatives who came here by way of the actual legal process got that kind of treatment. And where does the funding for the freebies come from? Democrats pet unicorn magic rainbow farts? And what's with Dem politicians angling for these invaders ability to vote in US elections? My relatives have to achieve US citizenship first, because they apparently were foolish enough to come here the established legal way, instead of waiting for the right regime to open up the gates and let them just come in, unvetted.

I agree, Jeff.

The attacks by the Left on those voicing opposition against illegal immigration using the tiresome “racist/bigot/Nazi/homophobe/xenophobe/transphobe/fascist/‘extreme MAGA Republican’/sexist/puppy killer” argument let’s you know they have no solid ground on which to stand.

For example, get a load of this propaganda.

In this MSNBC segment on TX Gov. Abbott’s actions at the border, there is no mention at all of the Biden administration’s non-enforcement of the law by either MSNBC moderator lawyer Katie Phang or Cook County Democrat historian Michael Beschloss, whose attempt to conflate the actions taken during the 50s & 60s over civil rights with those taken concerning the border issue is too cute by half!

Beschloss seems to be a smart guy who has just lost his mind.

Or maybe his establishment bona fides (Williams B. A., Harvard M.B.A.) drive his bias.

From Beschloss’ Wikipedia bio:

“Beschloss is the son of the late Ruth and Morris Beschloss, who was a Jewish refugee from Nazi Germany. He has two sons with his Iranian-born wife Afsaneh Mashayekhi Beschloss. His wife is president and CEO of the Rock Creek Group, a Washington, D.C. investment firm, former treasurer and chief investment officer of the World Bank, a past trustee of the Ford Foundation, PBS, and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and a current trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation, the World Resources Institute, and the

Institute for Advanced Study. Their son Dr. Alexander Beschloss (born 1994), is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Their son Cyrus Beschloss (born 1996) is a graduate of Stanford Journalism School and the founder of The Generation Lab, which surveys and analyzes young people aged 18 to 34. The couple are advisory board members of

Resources for Inner City Children.”

The vocal left wants to let everyone in. The vocal right wants to send everyone home. And thus no legislation is ever passed. Immigrants of any sort are both customers and suppliers - influencing demand as well as supply of labor. The biggest issue that costs money in the current surge is that most cannot legally get jobs. So they sit around panhandling or worse. The fact is the USA benefits from most of the illegal immigrants that are here. The citizen birthrate is now below replacement rates. A shrinking population is a recipe for economic disaster. Should the system be altered to make things more 'fair'? Sure. Along with bringing back the bread and butter idea of melting pot style assimilation. But, again, nobody is willing to compromise.

And even Republicans in FL get how important illegal immigrants are to the economy. https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2023/06/02/florida-immigration-law-undocumented-farm-workers-tuchman-dnt-ac360-vpx.cnn

There should be zero tolerance for illegal immigration. Farm worker situation is easily solved with a blockchain solution. Bush's "guest worker" program was abused more than the 401-b program

OK, then come up with a guest worker program that works and get it passed. Good luck. And the USA also still needs new permanent residents to go along with guest workers. In the mean time I'd prefer not to cut off my nose to spite my face.

there are enough people around here to do work.....unfortunately we send them monthly payments so they don't have to. Judge Smales was right, "the world needs ditch diggers too." : ) I proposed a blockchain based system (more accurate than a govt guest worker) years ago, with the ability to use a service like Pipit.global to transfer money.

Immigration could be a good thing, but assimilation has always been the key and that is no longer going on and in fact the way things are set up it almost discourages it. Not that these immigrants wouldn't assimilate if required, they would. We would also be getting less if they had to assimilate, though the numbers would be marginally smaller and here is why. The countries they come from have been using the United States as a release valve for people who would otherwise eventually become revolutionaries. We keep in place, on the whole, some of the most segregated, and corrupt political systems in the America's by allowing these countries to literally send all of these highly marginalized people here. I will say this, having grown up when I was younger in a town for three years where 35% of the population was illegal immigrants in the early 1980's. Most wanted to be here, and had certain things been required of them most would have complied, but nothing was. Even then there were the occassional kidnapping of one of my classmates younger siblings by mules wanting more money. This was long before the cartels are what they are today.

There actually might be an upside to Durbin's silly idea of admitting illegal aliens into the military.

As I understand it, the French Foreign Legion will admit just about anybody - but members are prohibited from coming to France until their terms of service are complete. After that, they get French citizenship.

How about an American Foreign Legion? Take illegal aliens, train them, arm them, and send them to Ukraine to fight the Russians. Or wherever else we need a military force. They're banned from returning to America until their term of service is complete - and then they become citizens.
