They literally believe their BS. It must be tied up in their sense of superior morality and virtue. They think those of us on the Right are truly evil and morally compromised and therefore, since they are not, it must blind them to the rank hypocrisy.

In a way it is funny. But really, it is terrifying cuz think what these folks can justify doing to us when they are in power if this is how blind they are to right and wrong. They will be able to justify ANY AND EVERY THING and I mean evil things in pursuit of making things and us "right".

This could be a SNL skit. I don't believe that they are blind to their hypocrisy. I can see them nodding in agreement, "let it fly".

Musk is one hell of a trader. He must see a massive edge.

Bezos already saying Musk is in bed with China, haha. You simply cannot make it up. No more logic, just street fighting.

Haha, exactly what the leftist Twitter universe did to the right last time around.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

Of course that guy deserves his mocking. But at some level he's right. All content on private sites is moderated. Gab does, Parler does, etc. Musk may change the dials somewhat, but the idea that there is not going to be a filter is not realistic.

There's no nirvana. Haidt gets the analysis right:

"Social scientists have identified at least three major forces that collectively bind together successful democracies: social capital (extensive social networks with high levels of trust), strong institutions, and shared stories. Social media has weakened all three. "

And Twitter is dominated by the nuts of both extremes even if the left nuts outnumber the right nuts.

I don't agree with all of Haidt's recommendations (too government oriented), but it's interesting to see one of them, user verification, seems similar to Musk's stated goals. Side note: hopefully one of the outcomes of the war is to de-anonymize ownership of shell companies and property. It seems amazing how much legal corruption exists in the 21st century.

I found Yglesisas' commentary to be useful

As far as value goes, I'm skeptical that there is much there. But I found this analysis interesting:

Any specifics on what value Musk can add to Twitter bottom line?

Open source the code. Allow developers to build stuff on top of Twitter. Tokenize it somehow. Charge for services like becoming a blue check. Charge media if they tweet and the link takes you to a paywall.
