If we took things seriously in the west this wouldn't have happened but we choose to fight the ongoing daily battles of first-world problems and an obsession with all things woke. We have allowed the west to be perceived as soft, weak, peevish, silly. Putin made a smart move; I don't like it, but it was very adept play. Now, the Chinese need to take Taiwan - and who's going to stop them?
To blame Biden is easy. The truth is we brought this on ourselves.
Joey poopy pants is not doing anything to make Putin pause. Not one word about lifting restrictions on domestic energy production, not one word about approving the Israeli NG pipeline to Italy and thus Europe, Germany is still going to decommission their nuclear reactors, not one word about kicking Russia off SWIFT, NATO countries have not begun to increase defense spending and building up their militaries if they announced all this now the price of oil and gas would drop immediately and Putin and the Russian economy would take a huge hit. Everything the drooling idiot and his clown posse of village idiots are doing is worse than useless. Lets be clear Putin could not have financed this if we had kept the price of oil and NG down to were it was at when Trump was President, everything that is happening now can be laid at Biden and the useless EU clowns feet because of their climate change delusion.
Here’s why Ukraine is important: Because in 1994 we assured them that if they gave up the nukes that were on their soil, we would protect them if the day came. If we don’t do at least something to live up to that who in their right mind will forgo the chance to gain access to nukes when they have it? Why our “leaders” can’t seem to point this out to the public is beyond me. They don’t give a damn about protecting democracy (as if Ukraine is some shining example, anyway).
Has that ever really mattered to the US when it comes to games of international influence? I’m not saying, as a veteran and son of a Marine who died in service and parent of two military aged males, I’m supportive of going to war over Ukraine, but there are far better arguments than “we must defend democracy and if you disagree you are a traitor”. (sorry about the run-on but I’m not going to spend time editing from my phone) If Tulsi Gabbard can be accused of being a traitor for questioning Biden’s tactics to this point they’re not even TRYING to actually convince us. They just have better things to do with their time than state anything more than “it’s about democracy”.
That's a good point which I would like to see expounded on with nuance somewhere. (Understand no one can do it on their phone). Where is the President, or someone in the White House sitting down, writing an article or going on television and explaining it--laying out the case? Nowhere.
Nuance in this day and age is dead. The left decried Bush's "you're either with us or against us" speech and now anything other than "Putin is Hitler" from any corner of the media or internet is considered treason. The Prince/Bannon clip is so out of context that it is comical. I'm no fan of Bannon but in the context of the 45 minute discussion, it bears no resemblance to how it is being portrayed (I actually decided this horse was being ridden so hard it HAD to be checked). Pointing out that the entirety of Europe is delinquent in their commitments to financial support of NATO at the expense of the US is "undermining our alliances". Never mind that the US taxpayers and the youth of our country will bear the brunt of a direct conflict with Russia.

I don't disagree; however the way Biden handles the Presidency, policy, and Putin made room for Putin. He could have been like this: https://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/1497206208654098461?s=20&t=M-wS0J3Y4ri_4mP14rE5jw

Here is a farcical 42 second campaign commercial by Biden about Putin in 2019. Biden is a joke and the weakest and worst president we have ever had. https://twitter.com/theblaze/status/1495924782801604612?s=20&t=pk-q4GBeD92GChvDuE2bSg

Does it matter that Ukraine is pretty corrupt?
